  1. Made a bit of progress today, everything takes 3 times longer than normal having to put string lines up on every run to make sure it’s in the right place because there’s no going back once the floor is poured
  2. Back in Middlesbroughstan today, a lot of drainage to go in
  3. I can recommend this if you come across it
  4. Just got Mrs Stav home from hospital, so a beef stroganoff to try and cheer her up a bit
  5. Not drinking yet but the second batch of my shoot day bramble gin is bottled and the third is on the go
  6. Tonight’s tea was harissa chargrilled chicken with a spicy Mediterranean stew and rice, it was bloody lovely
  7. If it’s India stone and the customer wants it sealing I’ll do it straight away, if it’s another natural stone I would recommend letting a winter get at it first to draw the salt out, generally I try to put people off sealing any patio, there’s some really good cleaning products out now that will lift most stuff that spilt on them i did a really expensive one a few years ago and the customer wanted it sealed, to cut a long story short it turned into a nightmare, they were all salt marked and it was like an ice rink, I had to remove the sealer which was a terrible job
  8. Bit of patio down and I’ve stripped the copper out on his time as well
  9. If he’s been sent them he’s decided to keep them because I bet he didn’t receive them 30 seconds before his door went in, any normal lad would of deleted them straight away or reported the sender, if he was “ just sent them “ how has his name come to the attention of the police, they don’t get notifications when anyone gets a dodgy email or text
  10. Chicken and mushroom thing tonight with thyme, garlic and mustard, nice
  11. That’s what I thought, but I’ve got a demolition job coming up and there will be gear coming out of there so it might be worth my while for a couple of hours, that’s if the scrap price goes back up
  12. I will literally do anything for money stripped this bungalow out and he said will you strip the paper, yes I will. Will you put a bit of patio down out the back, yes I will. Will you strip all the pipe work out and you can have it, but he won’t pay me to do it, I’ll think about it
  13. Pork choppy things tonight, chucked on the plate because I’m knackered and couldn’t be arsed
  14. Tonight was cod loin with panko chorizo breadcrumbs, mini thyme roast spuds, griddled asparagus and a lemon aioli, it was very nice
  15. NO One of the lads I work with buys bungalows at auction ( when the old dears died) he makes good money on them, the last one he did around 80k on and I would guess he make somewhere between 40 and 50k on this one
  16. On my own all day today stripping a bungalow out, this is the type of work I like
  17. They are a cracking company to deal with, we won’t use anyone else for aggregates and concrete if we can help it, the belt mixer lad has been with them for 20 years that I know of and nothing is ever a problem for him, he had a full day booked in on Friday and still went back and reloaded when we were short even though it was our fault not working out the right amount
  18. Quick spaghetti bolognaise tonight, Mrs Stav dropped off at her mates 60th and out in a field. All before 9
  19. Don’t, I’ve had him on the phone moaning because it’s worked out at 3 trench blocks when he wanted 1, I’ve had to point the tit in the direction off his plans that state that his foundation has to be 900 below finished floor, so he could of had 1 trench block but it would of been about another 8 cube of concrete to get the depth of the foundation
  20. Some kind of chicken and mushroom thing tonight, it was very nice, I’m not sure I could make it again because I probably couldn’t remember what I put in it
