My twin brother does that, he works his way around the plate keeping his favourite thing on the plate until last
-
I have a family member that can’t have any food touching on a plate, so her fella genuinely uses one of these at home, a couple of years ago we went to a restaurant with them and she picked what she wanted to eat by working out how she could move everything around the plate so it wouldn’t touch needless to say we don’t go out with them much these days
-
For me, sea bass with a ratatouille for Mrs Stav, sea bass with creamed new spuds and leeks
-
Nobheads, they will of paid 35 quid each to get in there, so they are funding what they are against
-
I can’t be doing with my veg floating around the plate, Mrs went back in the kitchen to get more for hers

This isn’t the full job, it’s £1400 for us to put the main in the house and reinstate everything, then the plumber has about half a day running the copper in from the alkathene, then the joiner has got some boxing in and the floor to repair, the bill is over 4 grand, moral of the story is, never ring a plumber if your leak is on the main
-
Pipe in and backfilled, back tomorrow to concrete inside the house and reinstate the path, can’t do it today because we’ve put 2 days in for this and I’ve just seen the plumbers quote so we’ll be definitely taking 2 days out of it
-
Back at it today, water main into a house, apparently plumbers don’t dig holes
-
Proper butchers pork chops, colcannon and tender stem, it was very nice

The Unintended Keeper ( Diary of a keeping blagger )
Stavross replied to Stavross's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
It was my third day yesterday and it was a belter despite the rain, had my mate up from Lincolnshire and a few guests that were described to me as “ proper shooting men “ so the pressure was on for me and my apprentice to put on a good show, and I think we managed it, now I always play the day down to them to try and manage expectations, but in my head I had two drives that would make the day, first drive ( tip drive ) was unbelievable, they get no shooting until we turn the drive towards the end and then it went mental, at one point it sounded like everyone pulled the trigger at the same time -
Roast beef again today
-
My turn to do elevenses for the shoot tomorrow, so I did leek and potato soup and a big corned beef pie, and a bottle of my bramble gin just had a jacket spud with cheese for my tea
-
Mushroom ragu tonight
-
Just me tonight because Mrs Stav has gone to see some boy band in Newcastle, so I went for venison madras, nice but it was bloody hot
-
Sausage, mash and onion gravy ( down side is I have to blitz the gravy because Mrs Stav doesn’t like the texture of onions )
-
Just bagging up wheat today and feeding the flying chickens, nobody at the farm today, they are all out shooting, so I stopped at the house to see how the old boy was, now he’s got dementia so I get him to come and give me “ a hand “ to keep him busy and he can tell me his stories from when he was a lad, first time today he couldn’t remember my name, it really put a lump in my throat, it’s so sad to watch him deteriorate, and I was thinking that when he’s gone all of the stories he has told me over the last 25 years will be gone as well, just very sad
-
Pork loin choppy things tonight with mash and tender stem
-
Pot roast beef for us today, the only down side is I’ve done one for my mam so I haven’t got enough for a stroganoff tomorrow now picked up a little book earlier, see if I can find something different to do with the deer
-
For Mrs Stav, chicken with creamed leeks, rice and tender stem for me saag chicken, better than any takeaway
-
Mrs Stav got too choose what she wanted for tea last night, so we had a kids tea of sausage, mash and beans I made the decision today so we had mince and dumping
