Your not wrong, they have all moved off the rape now, I’ve been seeing them on the grass fields already
-
They are yours mate ?
-
I think the hill side is west facing
-
Yep
-
The difference in weather up there to down here is mad, a bit of wind is not a bother but the driving rain was to much for me, at least we showed our face
-
So I’ve been working for an old South African boy up on the moors today, I’ve not seen him for a year or so and he came out to see me when I got there carrying a bag, walked up to me asked how I was doing and said “you like guns and all that sh*t don’t you Chris” so I replied, “ yes David I like guns and all that sh*t” well I’ve got you something and gave me a bag containing 3 books, not wanting to offend the most offensive man I know I said thank you very much and put them in my car, I’ve had a flick through them and to be honest they are not really my thing although the guns and how they wor

You won’t go wrong with a mountfield, in one of my many jobs we use mountfield and hayter push along and they never miss a beat, the ride on is a husqy and that’s a quality bit of kit, go rid of the John deer because it was pants and cost a fortune to fix ?
-
Yeah, it makes a change up there for it to go right for once What made it better was John was in the shed lambing so for the first time I could show him what was shot, I’ve not had anymore phone calls this week but I’ll have another look up there over the weekend

Cheers, I got the A1 decoy one off free ads, the lad was just around the corner from longshanx so he picked it up, £70 with two batteries and the timer, it doesn’t even look like it’s been used ?
-
I’m with you on that one U, I love a mental bunny shot, but if I could take all my foxes under 150 I would
-
Go for it, at the risk of starting a caliber war on here again take a look at .243 this is only my opinion but it’s a bit more of a versatile round, I might bump into you at the shooting show ?
-
I don’t think I would of taken the shot and had he not hit it I would of probably had a good rant at him but seen as he dropped it all I could do was say well done

I had a phone call from the farmer today telling me the a fox had killed one of the lamps and would I get my arse up there and do something about it, so I rang my mate to come with me, I had to bribe him with first shot because the weather was terrible, so off we went, when we got there it was windy and pouring down but on we went, after about 20 minutes he got his chance and fair play to the lad he took the dog at 307 yards, my go next and 45 minutes later I got to take a vixen at a modest 87 yards, so cold and wet we called it a night ?

I’ll take you up on that mate, I’d like to see what it’s like with my scope ?
-
Nice shooting fella l use a nightmaster 800 in red for foxes and I don’t have a problem once looking through the scope, I can always tell the difference between fox and dog due to eye shine just using the lamp, cats are a lot harder to tell apart ?
-
That looks a very nice set up, I’ve been looking at these for weeks now but keep getting conflicting information on how it will work on my .243 with the vortex scope, some have told me it will work under 12 Mag but others have said the glass is to good on the scope and will not give a good image at all, I don’t really want to change the scope because it’s a lovely bit of kit but I’d really like an ad-on

You could be right there, I often catch her looking at me like she wants me to die and then when I turn to look at her she smiles, devious little bugger
-
If I’m out on my own I always get the lecture from the missus to watch what I’m doing and anything could happen to me on my own, I tell her there’s nothing to worry about as I’m the most dangerous thing in them woods if you see what sort of condition I’m in you wouldn’t think it possible for me to walk up hill for an hour ?
-
It’s windy every time we go there it seems to funnel down the valley, we went a mile down the road and it was flat calm, think I’ll be out myself amongst the lambs at the weekend they are out in the fields now enjoying this weather so I’m sure there will be a ginger or two about

All longshanx, I was just the lamp man last night, the wind was mental, so with it blowing him about all the way up there, we had a couple of misplaced shots, so a hand dispatch was in order, the bunny in the picture was a tough little begger, it made its way to the stream so after he shot it and tried to drown it he then decided to try and choke it to death, that was one hard rabbit, I was about to step in before the rabbit got the better of him ?
-
Fantastic to see you back on, hope your keeping well and getting out there ????
-
Had a couple of hours out tonight with the long one, a walk around some fields that have been put into grass for the sheep and he managed a few.rabbits and and couple of hares, It was blowing a hoolie through the valley but we did ok ?
-
To be honest I put a load of pigeons out of a tree when we were out and I sh*t myself but would never admit it to the lads ?

The Beauty Of Nature, "add Yours"
Stavross replied to kriti's topic in Wildlife and General Photography
I seen one on Sunday, the first thing I thought was if we get a cold snap your buggered mate -
Bit off topic but spotted this chap on the top of the moors this morning, no idea where it came from as the nearest farm is about 5 miles away
