  1. You could be right there, I often catch her looking at me like she wants me to die and then when I turn to look at her she smiles, devious little bugger
  2. If I’m out on my own I always get the lecture from the missus to watch what I’m doing and anything could happen to me on my own, I tell her there’s nothing to worry about as I’m the most dangerous thing in them woods if you see what sort of condition I’m in you wouldn’t think it possible for me to walk up hill for an hour ?
  3. It’s windy every time we go there it seems to funnel down the valley, we went a mile down the road and it was flat calm, think I’ll be out myself amongst the lambs at the weekend they are out in the fields now enjoying this weather so I’m sure there will be a ginger or two about
  4. All longshanx, I was just the lamp man last night, the wind was mental, so with it blowing him about all the way up there, we had a couple of misplaced shots, so a hand dispatch was in order, the bunny in the picture was a tough little begger, it made its way to the stream so after he shot it and tried to drown it he then decided to try and choke it to death, that was one hard rabbit, I was about to step in before the rabbit got the better of him ?
  5. Fantastic to see you back on, hope your keeping well and getting out there ????
  6. Had a couple of hours out tonight with the long one, a walk around some fields that have been put into grass for the sheep and he managed a few.rabbits and and couple of hares, It was blowing a hoolie through the valley but we did ok ?
  7. To be honest I put a load of pigeons out of a tree when we were out and I sh*t myself but would never admit it to the lads ?
  8. I seen one on Sunday, the first thing I thought was if we get a cold snap your buggered mate
  9. Bit off topic but spotted this chap on the top of the moors this morning, no idea where it came from as the nearest farm is about 5 miles away
  10. They are a stunning animal, the second one look like a grumpy old man ?
  11. Ha ha, that’s what you need an A10 mole buster, I wonder if I can put a variation in for one ?
  12. Up at the forestry this morning, stunning morning with everything coming to life in this unseasonably warm weather
  13. My legs are feeling it this morning, even though there was not a lot of action it was a nice few hours out, there is something I like about being in the middle of nowhere with all the sounds of the night, no light pollution and no traffic ?
  14. Well I was invited out tonight for a bit of foxy action, I was told that it would be a good old walk to get to where we were going on the top of the North Yorkshire moors, so off I went, when we arrived there was a small amount of mist, we set off walking through the forestry fire breaks and arrived at our location a little under an hour later, as we got there the mist had turned to patchy fog making the nv spotter almost useless, so we had a lamp round through the breaks in the fog and spotted one in a deep gutter as I was the guest I got first go, so up with the rifle and down it went, my ma
  15. Has anyone had a play with the new night master trident yet, a lad I know who works for them told me that they come with an amber led that is spot on not like all the filters that we used to fit to the lamps, I’m trying to talk him into lending me one to have a go with to make my mind up if it’s worth the £180 price tag and any better than my nm800
  16. That’s a proper tidy up day, cracking day out, I bet your mates were over the moon with that ?
  17. If his birds didn’t know where they lived by the time of year he was dogging them in it just goes to show he didn’t know what he was doing, luckily we don’t need to worry about the crank next season because he’s been given the boot
  18. Had a wander out with longshanx on one of his spots, there’s a few about, he nailed a couple with the HMR and I had a go with the .22, the added bonus was he got to fill his quota of one hare for the pot along with rabbit and also got to gut his first, we also seen a nice group of roe so all in all a nice walk out ?
  19. Yep, sat around the mole hills with the shot gun a few times looking for movement ?
  20. Very nice, you certainly did that mangy beggar a favour ?
  21. Sad time, it maybe time for some more happiness, I say go for it ?
  22. Well, managed one, I’m 90% this is not the one from the bottom field that turns up at daft o’clock and smiles for the camera, it’s a very small vixen, the other one looks much bigger, I didn’t even get it in the field it was sat in the corner of the garden on the property at the front of the land, only 65 yards so the .243 was a bit over the top, but dead’s dead?
  23. That’s a cracking looking pup, I think you need it in your life ?
  24. Not yet fella, I’m going to give it a couple of hours tomorrow night but then if there’s no joy I’ll have to leave it a bit and spend more time at the sheep farm
