    Back up at the shoot this morning for a bit of feeding, the missus came with me and we went in her car because mine is out of action, not a bit of snow when we set off from home, by the time we got to the shoot it was 4” deep and by the time we got to the farm it was between 6/8”. Got the bike out and headed to the piggeries drives, I’ve now cut down the feeding and I’m just feeding in a handful of places under cover, I’ve worked out that I should be able to feed until the end of March with what’s there, so with just taking a few cock birds for those who want them I won’t be shooting any numbe

    Is he holding it while you shoot it, that’s an accident waiting to happen ?

    Not the way you want it to happen but there was always a chance this would have to happen. I was talking to a lad from a commercial and the numbers he was talking about were high and they have shot a fare few days in between the two lockdowns

    I know a good while back there was a soup kitchen connected to a church that was feeding the homeless from an old double decker bus and they would take rabbits, I’ll have a look for them ?

    I think there’s something on Facebook with people feeding the homeless, I’ll have to get the missus to have a look because I don’t understand all that witchcraft ?

    Not all of them but there’s to many to keep feeding them, on the up side they won’t go to waste, plenty of free pheasant getting dished out around here

    I’ve had a couple stuck in the.17 a good while back, it was the old ammo that was the problem but they seem to have rectified it now, I still run a patch through them just to make sure they are dry

    There was a couple of abandoned cars, when I came down off the top the snow was getting deep, yet there was still a load of people at the top of Sutton bank playing in the snow, I bet there’s a few can’t get the cars off the top tonight

    Just rain here now, but it’s still falling as snow up at the shoot. The roads were really bad on the way back, the A19 was down to one lane

    Getting to the shoot this morning and finding it clear was a bit of a shock considering what I drove through to get there, it was late morning before the snow started, only lightly to begin with, but it wasn’t long before things started to turn white. Well we knocked it on the head early today, the birds were sitting very tight you could almost stand on them before they moved. We still got a bit of shooting but once the snow started coming down heavy they would not fly, one bird broke cover, got up into the snow and couldn’t fly in it, hit a couple of trees and helicoptered back to the ground,

    Another day at the shoot, when I set off this morning I didn’t think I’d get here, the snow was very heavy, by the time I’d got on the top not a bit of snow. It’s now started to come down heavy so it might be an early finish because you really don’t want to get stuck up here ?

    I’ve just had a phone call from the shoot captain, a couple of the members are not happy that we are shooting tomorrow, no one is forcing them to come and the alternative is I go up and rifle the lot, as it has been from the start of the season, you make your own decision as to if you feel comfortable being there. The captain said they won’t air their thoughts with me because they already know my response, if I get my way next season they won’t need to worry about it, TWISTY FACED OLD TW*TS ?

    Feeding today and there was police on the border between tier 3 and tier 4, the roads were very quiet so I was expecting a pull

    Well, I’ve been in touch with the captain and secretary, the shoot will go ahead as normal for those in tier 3, we have advised members in tier 4, but ultimately it’s there’s decision if they travel out of their area, we have said no guests and you must stay in your family groups, this includes a few feral kids that certain members try to pass onto others to look after, if these rules are not adhered to, they will be sent home and that will be the end of their membership
