I was up at the shoot just after 8 this morning, the birds were already off roast and on the wander, it’s not very often I get there on a morning to feed and at first I thought where are they all, it wasn’t long before I started to find them, wherever the sun was shining the birds were there, there’s a good bunch of them that head through the farm and under the beach trees before heading towards the oak wood drive until mid morning when the head back through the farm back towards the pen, it’s good to go different times of the day so I can see where they are ?

There’s no point in me buying top end binoculars, because I just wreck them, for the money you can’t buy anything as good as these, their top of the range rifle scopes, like the one I have on my .243 rival any of the high end manufacturers a mate of mine had a Swarovski scope and it had condensation in it, he sent it to them and they repaired it free of charge and had it back to him in a few days, a few weeks later he dropped his rifle off the back of the pickup and damaged the scope, sent it back to them and they refused warranty because it was damaged, gutted ? he paid a lot of money f

Few weeks ago I broke my vortex binoculars when I got the quad stuck up at the shoot, while trying to lift the bike out I smashed my binoculars on the frame Longshanx gave me the number for Country sports wholesale who handle the warranty for vortex, I finally got around to sending them on Monday, on Tuesday I got an email saying they couldn’t repair them and would send me a new pair, Wednesday, they arrived, but sadly when I opened them they were broken, so I emailed CSW including a picture, within 5 minutes they rang me and couldn’t apologise enough, it was not their fault as the

Most of what we have up there are very dark, be it doe or buck, they are lovely to watch in the woods, they move like shadows. I’ve seen one buck up there a couple of years ago that was a really light sandy colour, it was after forestry had been thinning the piggeries out and there was a group of them on the track, that was the one and only time I seen that beast

Another feed day and they are continuing to eat everything in sight, I was greeted by some partridge in the yard on arrival and seen another dozen or so on my rounds, my next doors bird drive is coming along nicely, I’ve got them feeding along the wood in the next field up from the rape, this will make them easier to get round and I’ll be able to drive them through the trees, standing the guns on the track in a valley the other side, my last port of call on my rounds is the oak wood drive, when I was heading out the wood, I spotted the big black fallow buck that me and FH had a look for a few

One size fits all, it even goes down small enough to go around your brush handle body ? -
That second picture is pure filth ??
-
That would do for me, but what would everyone else have ? smashing that ?

I don’t know if this is of any interest to any of you lot i’ve got a 12 gauge 25 cartridge belt, no makers name on it but it does seem well made, it looks like it’s been used once or twice if it’s of any use to any of you then you can have it, if there’s a couple interest then I’ll pull names from a hat, I don’t want anything for it and I’ll cover the postage, just seems a shame for it to sit in the back of a cupboard when someone could use it

Back to the shoot yesterday and it’s looking good, fingers crossed the birds will be ready by the 6th, something has wrecked a bird not far from Gordon’s pen, leaving a pile of feathers and what’s left of a drumstick ?

Sounds like a near perfect day to me, coot ?

I was in a similar situation, went back to the sheep farm on the hunt for another monster fox, got there, nice and cloudy, walking around, plenty of stuff about, rabbits, roe, hares and pigs, got to where I wanted to be and the clouds cleared and almost everything disappeared, so called it a night and shot half a dozen rabbits on the way back to the car, I was almost disappointed when this 100+ yarder’s head was still attached ?

For an all rounder you won’t buy better than ridgeline, for when I’m with the posh nobs on shoot days I’ve got my Musto keepers jacket ( not cheap, but the best jacket I’ve owned ) shooterking is to expensive and doesn’t look as good as Musto and shoffel, just my opinion, it means nothing in my house and I don’t expect it to mean anything here ?

Back up feeding today and the dog walkers are driving me mad, I’ve put a sign up at the entrance to one of the the drives, for what good it will do, no doubt they’ll ignore it or kick it over, on a brighter note this weather is what I’d expect and the birds are tailing up nicely, so long may it continue, my feeding of next doors birds is working a treat, they are spending all day in my fields now and were enjoying the last of the sunshine this afternoon along the hedge back I’m feeding them on. I was told they had their first day yesterday, I hope it was a partridge day because their pheasants

Weather is looking decent coot, hope you have a cracking day ?

I’d shoot them now, just to annoy him, obviously I’d want him there to see me do it ?
