There’s a lad at our shoot got a GSM sbs double trigger, non ejector and it’s all he uses, it looks like he’s been whacking fence posts in with it, but it never misses a beat

Purely because there’s so many of them on this land and they don’t go to waste, the other places I shoot over spring and into late summer, I don’t shoot them

A walk around the shoot this evening to bash a few bunnies, while it was still early I had a walk over the far side towards the caravan park, the noise coming from the place was ridiculous and there wasn’t an animal in sight so it was back around the farm for a bit of peace and quiet, I don’t know what was wrong with me tonight but I couldn’t hit a barn door, I was starting to doubt the rifle then took a clean head shot at 143 paces, so it turns out it was just me

People always want to be where they shouldn’t be and when you tell them to sod off they look at you as if your the idiot collected my share of them bucks off longshanx today, he’s a good egg all prepped and vacuum sealed ?

Pellet was about £340 last year, I’d expect another £100 a tonne this year, I’m working next door to my shoot secretary today and talking to him, he knows of 4 syndicates that ether can’t get birds or can’t afford them and are looking for days now

I feel all sad now, I thought I’d done a good job ? I should of taken a picture from the house end because it’s laid on an angle so it looks like almost a diamond pattern ( sound horrible looks good) I’ve had to put aco’s across the house because they didn’t want any steps oh well, I might have to go back to smacking trucks with big hammers for a living ?

At the minute our guns get a days shooting for about £62, the way everything has gone up I can see it been £100 a day before long

Just got off the phone to the lad sorting the shoots birds out, ? we have ordered 800 and have been promised they well be there unlike many other syndicate’s, when I mentioned price a few weeks ago I was told about 4 quid a poult, now it’s looking more like 5 quid each, that’s a massive jump, speaking to someone I know who runs small syndicate they have already let a day to a team of guns in late November, a 50 bird day for £2000, it might be something we need to think about doing the way everything is going up

Wet day so out with the easy joint on the latest patio job, possibly the worst people I’ve worked for, said at the start, if there’s anything you want to change or are not happy with just say, should of said tell me before I finish ? Anyway, 4 tonne of top soil to go in and grass seed on Thursday then I’m done and away

Not seen any yet, normally May you will start to see the little fluff balls in a couple of places at the shoot, where the vixen lays them up for the day, a friend of a friend shot 3 plus the vixen 3 weeks ago in Norfolk
