  1. Good enough for the filthy nonce, he only lived 2 minutes up the road from me and there was always rumours about him long before he ended up in court
  2. With a bit of luck he’ll die just as he’s coming to the end of the 12 years he now has to serve since the court of appeal extended his sentence to 18
  3. It no secret that I love the HMR, I think some people way under estimate how far you can effectively shoot with it, I’d never normally shoot a fox over 100 with it, but rabbits and other small stuff, well, if I can see it I can hit it, but the way the prices are going up it will get to the point where I’ll just use the .223 for pest control
  4. Yep, 7 quid a box ? the Winnie subs were over 8 quid a box
  5. This stuff is getting ridiculous, £146 for 200 .17hmr and 500 .22 subs, the Norma was the cheapest in the shop ?
  6. I’ve just said to the builder “ can I have your set square, I’ve left mine at home” He said “ I haven’t got one, I never use one “ that explains a lot here ?
  7. He just ordered me the Indian sandstone for the steps and he’s apparently going to timber clad the wall, good luck to him
  8. Steps done, now he wants a pin curb all the way along it ?
  9. It was the same with me, from leaving school I worked with some really good mechanics/ auto elec’s / tanker fitters and ended up been pretty good at my job, working on chemical tankers, then been gaffer in my late 20’s now I almost always blag my way through a job but still seem to know more than the cranks I’m working with, no one seems to take any pride in anything they do anymore, I don’t want to sound big headed but you can go in 90% of the truck garages around here and someone in there knows who I am and would recommend me for a job, now it’s rare to find anyone under 40 that anyone would
  10. No joke mate, all 3 of them were holding one tape measure this morning ? they were going to get the belt mixer in to pour the steps, I’ve used all the old half bags of sand and gravel laid about and another 2 getting dropped off in the morning, job done, it baffles me how they get jobs, well paid jobs at that
  11. I’ve give up and done it for them, it’s amazing how quick they all disappear when you say do you want me to do it, it will cost you a day and a half and I mix the concrete as well
  12. Why have I just had to explain how to form concrete steps to 2 joiners and a builder, Jesus, this is going to be a long day ?
  13. Up at my mates for an hour tonight to clear a few more off the freshly drilled game cover, winged and fur, took a couple of hoppers down to where I seen the fox the other night, gave it 40 minutes or so but didn’t see anything, I can’t wait until all this wheat is down, over the summer I just spend my time wishing my life away, dreaming of stubble fields
  14. I’m drooling looking at that, just what you want on a sunny evening ?
  15. Here, your just rubbing my nose in it now, with your daytime foxes ??
  16. Certainly a nicer view than I’ve got today Phil ?
  17. Chicken and bacon pie, with new spuds, carrots with creamy, chickeny sauce ?
  18. My favourite today, stinky drains and septic tanks ?
  19. Luckily it’s started to rain and we have rapped in, I’ve only volunteered myself for one small job ( free of charge ) and haven’t threatened anyone, the missus is very proud of me ?
  20. Lucky you, I’m on street party duty and 8 cans of kronenbourg in ?
  21. Back up on the moor tonight for a couple of hours, I took the.17 for my mate and the .22 for me, we decided that we wouldn’t shoot anything really small and between 70 and 120 yards for the .22 and anything over 120 he’d have a go at with the .17, there was a few misses but both of us pulled off some cracking shots, we managed 41, so that’s well over 200 for 3 visits, not bad at all ? also seen the first curlew chicks and actually seen a cuckoo instead of just hearing them
  22. 260 miles is a little to far for me
