    I’ve never heard anything so stupid, if they spent less time issuing extensions and temporary permits and just got on with the renewals they wouldn’t be in this mess, as for a temporary permit where you can’t buy ammo ? that’s a new one on me, what’s the point of that, instead of giving you a temporary permit just renew the bloody FAC they seem to be giving themselves more work by not doing the job they are paid to do ?

    In the interests of fairness I got her indoors to pick a name from my hat, first off she looked at me like I was a dick, but when I said I’d get her a doughnut and a drink so she didn’t have to move, she soon got on board and the winner is FOXHUNTER ?

    It’s the same with these, I shoot all their land, can get rid of any rubbish from jobs there, get invited to the family game shoot and they own the fishing rights on a stretch of the river Tees that the rent to an AA that when I was into my fishing I could go whenever I wanted without being a member, ?

    Quick bit of concreting this morning at my mates farm, I love working here, working with all 3 generations of the family and I always get some kind of shooting offer when I’m here ?

    Gave the kids a hand to finish the cladding off, mainly because I wanted to get fake grass secured properly, he had me bring 6” over the front to run along the cladding ( he seen it in a magazine) I thought it would look sh*t but I think it looks quite good ?

    It baffles me, some of the things I’ve seen, you think ? you have given yourself more work doing it the wrong way it’s not just doing this, I spent 20 odd years in the motor trade trying to get lads to do it right first time and not just quickly so they could go home

    It’s nice to see it been done right, you have been in this game a longer than me so will of seen a lot more then me, but the amount I’ve seen where they just get concreted in or even back filled with clay under a house floor is shocking, I did one a few weeks back in a little utility and they were complaining about the smell, when I ripped it out someone had used 4” perforated land drain and backfilled it with rubble, and these people get paid for that ?

    Day started off ok, with a bit of concreting but now it’s all gone to sh*t and I’m up to my eyes in hydraulic oil

    No, I lost the permission next to it ( had a fall out with the bloke over work ) and the god botherers didn’t want me killing his creatures I’ve lost a couple recently, but gained a couple, so it’s swings and roundabouts

    Pot roast beef today, first time in ages my yorky puds have come good, who’d of thought a new pudding tin was all that was needed ?

    Without doubt the best tasting thing with wings I’m sat here thinking, pigeon breast cooked in butter, thyme and a bit of garlic, roast carrots and pea shoots, maybe do a little sauce from what the pigeon was cooked in? ?
