  5. Ad quick half hour before again. 3 shots missed 2 got 1. 1 shot I think I really should of hit and another was practically vertical and high. I think I need to practice shooting up more vertical. Like I said in yesterdays post I am a newbie to cattys, so every kill is a red letter day and learning curve. Am constantly learning about bands ammo sizes ect. I mite be getting some lead ammo moulds so will experiment with them. Anybody any advice on best lead size ammo and bands to suit ? Also anybody shot lead beans ? In slingshot land everyday is a school day lol.
  6. Am off work for a couple of days which is very rare for me. Got some jobs do at home, lay some composite decking, decorate dining room and clean garage ect. So while am off been taking opportunity to get out for a mooch. So had a half hour. Bought a second hand realtree ppsg so after I'd got my eye inn, went to have a shoot. Ended up dropping one woody. But missed two, but both nearly vertical shots in cover and was high up. Am new to cattys so every kill is a red letter day and enjoying my new hobby and less stressful than being 2 or 3 hours drive from home at 3 in the morning and explaining
  7. Am not far from you, and 3 little shoots near my business just haven't bothered. Hopefully your right about next year mate.
  8. Am not a shooter and am not particularly into guns, but I have shot plenty on a variety of game. And have an old mate who was a grouse moor keeper. Beating was never my thing but have done a bits, I don't particularly like the type of people that pay for a days grouse or higher end driven, they just not my cup of tea. But in the bigger picture as Dido said it would be a shame if it all went to pot, as shooting is our heritage and brought jobs and a certain degree of balance to the countryside.
  9. And old mate of mine I used go lamping with never worked, but on the run up to Xmas his Mrs made him get a job get some extra money for Xmas for kids . Any way this one time ( am going back well over 20 yrs ago ) he got a job in a factory were they made kebabs. He said it was pure utter shite in them, all the crap, stuff all fell on a manky floor and all sweeped up and put back in. He said they used to spice the feck out of it to hide it. This lad never ever eaten another kebab after that. I used pick him up go lamping and he stank . Even now 25 years later my sister says what ever happened t
  10. A lot of the smaller shoots around me haven't bothered to put birds down this season due to the bird flu ect. Shame to see these small shoots fold. What's the situation elsewhere up and down the country ?
  11. This is a nice little cheap tent of mine the Alpkit Soloist, I think there only about £120 ish. Really light, but a small one man tent. I was happy with it
  12. Us northerners are like the special forces, the elite of the elite
  13. Trust me, we don't want you soft southern fairies anyway up here. It's a man's world .....
  14. Or a terrier spaniel cross or similar
  15. That would be exactly what I would want, and no going to ground. The days of digging things at night and looking over your shoulder are well well gone for me now. Just a little mate to mooch with a d retrieve things out of cover or off water.
  16. I quite fancy a Plummer terrier as a mooching/catty dog
  17. And mine is green, £230 for a 4 season tent is nowt lol
  18. You can get it a lot cheaper than that lol, only paid £230 for mine brand new on offer
