  1. You'd think that would be simple....I'm waiting for their reply, they said they would find out and get back to me!!! I've asked BASC as well, same response from them!
  2. Not there, although I did look after Heathrow, Airside and Landside for about 4 years from about 2008-2012. That was fun getting guns, knives, traps, poisons etc Airside. My "Tools of the Trade Pass" made for very interesting reading.
  3. No, (and its mainly helicopters). Like I said, everything has been taken care of............. The question is simply, is it legal to shoot them at night? Thanks!
  4. Thanks everyone. The site is VERY High Profile, very large and has 24 hour security. I have extensive experience of shooting Canada Geese but have never had to consider NIGHT shooting them, and a cursory comment from someone suggested that was illegal, I didn't think it was, but because of the nature of this site I must be absolutely 100% sure. General Licences inc.CL12, FAC Conditions, Other means of removing them have been tried, Lighting, rifles, shotguns, ammo types, Sundays, Bank Holidays, Geese numbers, specific location on site, number of operatives, safety, neighbours etc
  5. Perhaps, the wording says or sighting device for NIGHT SHOOTING (That implies Night vision scope??), it doesn't say normal day scope, it implies a scope for NIGHT USE, unclear or ambiguous!!!!! Regardless of that, I was/am not 100% clear if specifically shooting them at night is legal/illegal, and I need to know 100% on this site, it is a VERY High Profile site and I can't afford mistakes! Cheers
  6. Thanks, this is why I am asking the question, I can't find a definitive answer! I know that part, BUT, the world is not PITCH BLACK everywhere and we get full moons etc, I have shot ALL night before without any artificial illumination! Can I shoot Canada Geese at night, or is there anything legal specifically preventing me from doing that? Cheers
  7. Now here's a new one to me after all these years, can I shoot Canada Geese at night, never had to before ? This is out of season but covered by at least 2 General Licences (and will not be a Sunday or Bank Holiday), and will be with RIFLES, with geese on the ground, so that's taken care of. The site is High Profile and sensitive, and daytime is out of the question. Saturday daytime is also out of the question, that is their busiest time! So, can I shoot them at night? Cheers
  8. Never a fan of the 453, but I think I missed the 454 and 456, did they actually release them, if not, I wonder why they didn't use the numbers!?
  9. I can't agree with that, for close range almost any rimfire is excellent, then the Hornets and then the classic .222/.223 (even the .204), longer range the .243 is superb. I simply don't agree there is a single perfect fox calibre, and the .204 is the only calibre I have ever seen splash on a fox, so that didn't impress me much. There are certainly a few .204 about, and it has a following, so it must be doing something right, but it has never been a major contender in the UK. As always, each to their own and their requirements!
  10. Totally agree, all mine are LIGHT (or at least NOT heavy barrel) and for field work do me just fine! Each to their own, I have a pal who lugs around a real heavy Sako and thinks I'm the twit, such is life!
  11. Cheers. So the electronics/mount is ok with centrefire?!
  12. Ok, I know there has been talk about these and potentially upgrades. I know next to nothing, are they any good, what else is comparable/better for a similar price, do they come with gun mounts and where is the best (cheapest) place to get one? What about battery life, I hear not too long??? Anything else I need to know before investing? Many thanks!
  13. I think they are still in lockdown, I normally get there in the eve and they are locked away anyway then, but the fox seems to still find a way!!!
  14. It's good eating in the area I saw them (Free Range Chicken Farm), so looks like they started early, they are definitely bigger than I would expect so must have been born early! I average 14 a year on this site and have been shooting it the best part of 20 years, it just doesn't stop!
  15. Have you seen any/many so far? Out Friday and saw the Vixen sitting in plain sight with 2 cubs who seemed remarkably large for this time of year, something else disturbed them and they scarpered before I got a picture.
  16. I have 2 half decent cameras but have reservations about leaving them on some sites, so I went after a cheap one for one site in particular! I'm not making a wildlife documentary so I'm fine with the lower quality pics. All I'm interested in is identifying wildlife trails and times, primarily fox, so the cheap stuff does me fine, but I have to admit my latest is cheap and nasty, but just about does the job. How do you compress the files, mine are too big to post here? Cheers
  17. Take the Laptop and view on site!
  18. My HMR is zeroed at 100yards, but that's what works for me!
  19. Sportsmatch do a lot, maybe worth checking with them if they have anything!
  20. How many times has it broken down since you bought it?
  21. Anyone got a 19" wheel or even a Space Saver for a 2018 Discovery Sport please? Happy to pay a sensible price. Cheers
  22. Yep, I had the same problem, I'm sure there is a way of compressing them but not sure how!
  23. Mine was running on Duracell's, but is now running on rechargeable AA I got from Poundland (£1.50 Pair), seems fine. Max SD the Camera will take is 32Gb, mine was cheapest I could find on Ebay, I think it was £4.79!
