Have to agree, are these CCI 0064 .22lr 32g SHP??? I was not aware any had been landed in the uk yet...could be wrong! CCI 40g HP Subs and CCI Velocitors always chambered VERY tight in my CZ Silhouette but the subs were pretty accurate, mind you, I think I have a good one, Eley work well but mine fires Magtech just as well!!!!

We all have our preferences and we are all different, but I can't help thinking a fixed mag scope is not the way to go in this situation!
-
Am I missing the point, do you want a scope to see a small target a long way off or are you concerned about elevation. Or Both perhaps? On a .204 with the right cartridge MOST scopes should be able to cope with the drop to 3-4-500Yards, but a mildot scope could also be very useful! Magnification wise it comes down to how good your eyes are as well!! I have taken bunnies past 250 yards on 6x mag, so it is really down to your own preferences! ATB

The .243 could have 50-60% more grunt than your .222. I suggest leaving the mod on the gun and getting a T8 or a Predator 8 ( I have to recommend the P8 Compact Version...same baffle stack as the full length P8 but a shorter sleeve and lighter unit)
-
I think we all know the glare is caused by the lamplight, but you will find that all of the above suggestions have a place and can help or solve the problem, including covers and matt blacks etc!! ATB
-
A common problem, all the above are likely to work/help...also mount the lamp further back if possible so the scope helps shield the moderator, or, if all else fails get a narrower mod or chop the barrel. I have a .243 T3 Hunter, the first in the country with the shorter pre cut barrel, I also run a P8 (compact) on the end of it and all is fine on mine, with no additional help! ATB

An evening on Martins ground...
Deker replied to Yokel Matt's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Martin, will you chill out!!! ... you really need to read my post carefully, I did not say anyone wasted their money, I posted a factual and accurate assesment of the calibre based on my research, knowledge and use of one! Every word is true! Now, for f***s sake it's time everyone stopped this ball banging, got sensible and constructive, and stoped making stupid personal remarks! -
Cheers AAA is the size for deer, not just Roe, any deer
-
It is the same as fishing weights, SG, AAA, AA, BB, No's 1,4,5,6,7 etc. with SG for fox, close range roe deer (in close range vermin control obviously) 4's usually for pheasant, 5's and 6's for rabbits and 7's and smaller for pigeon and clays. Hope this helps Help me out here, do you or anyone else actually use SG or even SSG on fox or deer (or anything)??? I'm curious to know if anyone does, and in just what situations, I have to say I am yet to find any sensible hunting use for SG! Close is right, humane despatch or slaughtering close range I'd say, (what a mess), 20 ya

Big Dog Fox last night..................
Deker replied to martin's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Martin Well, if you were in another part of the country I could suggest the Boar (none your way yet are there?) The Badger becomes the obvious choice, don't see the fox doing that, at least I have never seen the fox round my way cause that grief! FD Good fox, hope the T3 is ok now! -
Perhaps a little late to ask the questions, and, what do you want to use it on??. I don't have one and only know of one person who did..for a brief time before getting rid of it, not a happy experience. You have never had one, but, you're knowledge of the calibre is amazing or just an amazing load of bollocks. Anyway, I expect you may get mixed reviews here, in principle all the tables and charts suggest it should be a good and useful calibre. It is a very good and useful calibre The reality is not always the same, ammo is still not easy to find and expensive, reloading is still

clivej Don't take this the wrong way and I'm not having a go at all..... I have never known ANY of these Ballistic Calculators to be accurate,..there are too many other factors to take into account, barrel length, moderator, dirty/clean/worn barrel, temperature, air pressure, humidity, altitude, etc, etc, etc... but they tend to give you an idea, put you in the ball park and are useful, but by you saying the above, it just goes to show that it does NOT work! I have nevertheless saved the link to my Favourites!

Why are you after 2 guns with what you have described? A Semi with multi choke and 28/30 inch barrels will do it all for you! If you intend FORMAL Game Shoots then perhaps an O/U will be required, not because of any working features, just etiquette. But there are plenty of semi auto Game Guns! I believe I am right in saying Midland Gun Co guns are Turkish (someone will correct me if I'm wrong) and all I know about Marrochi are that they are Italian, biggest shotgun manufacturing country in the world!
-
Ok, I know nothing specifically about them, but a leap of assumption, the name sounds Turkish and is, there are plenty of good guns made in Turkey and some crap. The Webley range, all Turkish are generally OK!, let's not get too excited about them. However, I do notice the Churchill name, Churchill are an old and well respected gun maker, so again, a leap of assumption, they are either going through a really bad time or these guns are ok! Not sure if that is any use at all, just guesswork really!

MANY years ago a football team known as Man U was playing in my town on a Saturday, cup game of some sort, the town was awash with red and white but unfortunately 2 or 3 blue and white happened along, I suspect you can image the next bit. Very one sided to say the least, until 5' 5" wearing glasses, but with a black belt waded into the affray, and it was like a scene out of the movies, red and white was sent flying in all directions by this unassuming little chap stood there all by himself, I would not have believed it had I not witnessed it myself, a memory that lives with me still, obvio

Lets be honest, despite the company grief a few years back now Theoben still make good guns. I have always struggled with the Gas Ram system, never owned one, but I can't help thinking if it was that good the world would have embraced it by now, so what is the problem...I just don't know! OK, it could be argued it sits between Springer and PCP, but do we need something between the two?!?! If it works for you then great, we all have different requirements! ATB!

Thinking of buying a new shotgun
Deker replied to Welshwildfowler's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Put VERY Simply the Extrema/Extrema2 are just doctored up 391 with lots of plastic, pretty cammo and big chambers...off the top of my head I cannot think of a better Wildfowling gun...... I do however, hear great things about the new Benelli Vinci, (not sure if it's available in the uk yet) 3" chamber and allegedly the lightest recoil going! and it's from the Beretta stable anyway! -
I was thinking in terms of replacing the standard bullet with a ballistic tip. You can't actually reload rimfire because the brass is very soft. I realise it would be a pricey exercise buying ammo and throwing half of each round away but it might be worth it. Ric Ric I think I know where you are coming from but some smart arse is always going to pick you up on terms/info.....first off let me say I do not reload and only wave a basic knowledge of the process...BUT reloading Rimfire is a much bigger problem than the Brass being soft!!! Is this a silly question.....Can you get

I'm watching the Grey dig holes in my lawn for his winter food store as I write this, I also have 2 fox families living either side of my house, I see the Roe and Muntjac from time to time next to me and the occasional Pheasant, Badger, Hedgehog....very few bunnies...and YET.... I leave them all alone! The fox is a great waste disposal system for me, I chuck him everything I don't need, squirrel, rabbit, goose, whatever and it just disappears overnight, best he has taken is 62 rabbits in 3 days, he must have been worn out carrying them all away and burying them. The Squirrel I leav

Saw this one at about 200 yards to start with, he came charging at me to the call, kept dimming the lamp as he got closer and closer, thought he would never stop, he did eventually pause at about 45 yards, big mistake. The .22lr 40g HP sub hit him head on, just above and just to the right of his left eye, (look closely) he went straight down without a twitch and was dead before his body hit the ground! Saw 2 other foxes and called them both, both refused and decided to clear off real quick in the opposite direction! Hey Ho!!!
