  1. Tricky one, ammo not cheap and the .204 performance has been questioned historically. I've not shot one for what must be about 10 years, it was a brief encounter for the owner who simply didn't get on with it. To get the best out of it you always needed a very long barrel, is that still the case? Not really taken off here, but I suspect someone will come along and tell you its the best calibre in the world. Plenty of others to choose from as listed by FOXHUNTER above (plus Hornet), unless you have specific thoughts why it should be a .204, I personally would pass and go .223.
  2. Ok, who can give me an idiots guide please??? I've just about got my head around image intensifier scopes, and now Thermal scopes are turning up all over the place!!! Who has one, good points, bad points, what you would do if you bought again???? I would not want to make a mistake with the price tag of most, is it too early to invest, will quality improve/price reduce over the next year or two? All views appreciated. Cheers PS SCOPES SPECIFICALLY please, not spotters!! Thanks
  3. It's the Bendiocarb!!! I can recall rumblings from the USA at least 15 years ago that is was carcinogenic...not sure about that, but its nasty stuff!!!!!
  4. I don't like the Vulcan!!! Ficam was brilliant, always confident with that!!
  5. This is why few, if any, have time for your rantings!!!!! You just fly off, READ what I said...thought he found Lynx (not really BIG Cats, but lets run with it) evidence.... LYNX EVIDENCE..he found a deer carcass and thought Lynx had killed it, I never said he saw a Lynx!!!!
  6. You are correct, the same old rabbit hole and your usual response...I have all the evidence, but I'm not going to publish any of it for a whole bunch of spurious reasons, and your same old, if you don't believe me you can **** *** attitude, it seems impossible to have a sensible conversation with you. My question a post or two back........... This fundamental topic has been running certainly 5 or 6 years here, maybe more. How long does it take to find one of these Big Cats that are apparently living and breeding in the UK countryside? So, all these amazing Experts you rave
  7. Perhaps you would be kind enough to explain/show the proof you have then!!! The only reason this topic has carried on for so many years is the simple fact that NOBODY has found or produced any proof, if they had this topic would be over!!! And as for the so called Experts on Big Cats in the British countryside, just how do you get to be an expert on something you can't find????

    GB NEWS

I look in GB News from time to time, what a refreshing change from the BBC!!
  10. They are good motors just the same, especially if it is one of the 4 wheel drive versions!!!
  11. I always look at shooting with a practical head on....... do I need it???? If I do, and I can justify it for my business then I buy it. We are all in different positions, financially, work, sport, land, etc., etc. I have several guns that get very little use, but I have no intention of getting rid of any because they do still all have a use, and I need to be able to respond when the phone rings. The current crop of new PCP have some incredible price tags, I don't need them, my old FAC Falcon still does what I need from it. Just the same, there are times when you have to s
  12. Ok, I am still looking for someone to help please. I did have someone but circumstances have changed and this seems unlikely now. I need a person or company with the equipment and skills to help please, there have been numerous suggestions of how to fix the bent rails, but I'm not personally up to it, so I need help. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  13. I think you're right...... I wonder how long this one will take??????
  14. Not required for any normal quarry in this country, but why not if you want one, whatever floats your boat!!
  15. Am I missing something? Haven't we been here once or twice before????
  16. I have found someone here who may be able to help. Thanks for the input and I hope all will work out. I have to admit this is really getting to me, I've only had the boat a few months, (I've had other boats), and never had anything like this happen before! Thanks to everyone, and one person in particular. PS. Hopefully I will be able to post some "after" pictures in a week or two!!
  17. Thanks for that, but happy to take my chances!
  18. No need to come out if I can find someone with a pipe bender. Would have to be some sort of stainless grub screw, and holes are fully drilled through as a rivet is in there, so issues with a grub screw anyway!!
  19. that stainless must lift off either from a grub screw in the base or a bolt underneath The 3 at the rear have nut/bolt underneath, accesses through deck locker, awkward but can be done, the rest have some sort of stainless rivets, and no use unscrewing the rear as nothing will come off until rivets drilled. Then again, I don't have any rivets or rivet machine. Any access from inside for any others is a nightmare, I've looked!!! Pipe bender seems best option.
  20. There is no access to the pipework, they are sealed all round to prevent any water ingress. Can't just yank them either because of GRP anchorage. Needs a decent pipe bender and direct access to stainless only! PS and its what us southerners call a Gin Palace, very civilised at Henley don't you know!!!!
  21. I need someone near Reading who has a decent Pipe bender and knows how to use it please. My boat has had a coming together, and a couple of stanchions and the handrail are bent!! This is gentle work, there is nothing dramatic to do here, but I don't have a Pipe bender and I don't have any experience using one. The way I see it, 2 tall stanchions and the hand rail need a tweak, the small stanchion visible in the 3rd picture is only leaning in because of the bends to the tall stanchions and handrail further forward! It is Stainless steel (so quite hard) and best I can measure seems
  22. I have 2 FAC, 1 personal and 1 for my Club. 2.5 years ago when I renewed my personal FAC the medical forms cost me £50, I thought that was rich for ticking a few boxes. Now I'm renewing my Club FAC and need a new Medical (apparently my other medical is no use and they need an up to date one), I must stress, there are, and never have been any medical issues whatsoever over the years. Point 1..... I can get a variation and add a complete arsenal to my personal FAC, and no additional medical is required, but I can't simply renew my Club FAC, with no changes whatsoever, unless I prov

    Well.....

Still a lot not working properly, I thought they may have fixed that!!!!!!
  24. So, who went this year???? Unfortunately I had to skip it, so a review would be appreciated. Blenheim Palace next year, my favourite venue for the show, for some reason it just seems to work well there in my opinion!!!
