  1. Great video trev especially liked the end we’re whippet very carefully pulled the rabbit from hole with two ferrets clamped on, the next time someone says whippets grews pure sight hounds are crap then post this video.
  2. Hush power 4.10 are unbelievably quiet only down side is there a tad heavy, I’ve one for sale because of weight, the weight wouldn’t normally be a problem but this year I suffered some nerve damage which has taken a lot of strength out of my right arm so I am selling mine.
  3. Nice pic, who’s hats that? They must have a head like a mine car.
  4. Best way, veggies are not just about banning hunting they are also against things like vivisection and so am I so maybe take that line with her and become mates of a sort.
  5. Sounds like she’s got something that she believes in that’s a way of life so she can’t be all bad, just talk about something else it would save a load of grief, I am guessing you secretly fancy her.
  6. No nerves hit balaur all I am trying to do is share with you my experience of working labs, if the topic were about saluki crosses I would have kept my mouth shut as I’ve no practical knowledge of them, I’ve friends with various crosses but it’s not the same as owning & working a breed of dog,if you don’t have any first hand knowledge of a breed of dog it’s best you do not to contribute because I and men like me can see straight through the likes of you.
  7. Go on Drakeshead website to see there dogs, abit of Drakeshead blood mixed in with show blood doesn’t make a Drakeshead dog.black Labrador in pic all Drakeshead blood, yellow dog mixed workings lines, yellow dog is 13 now,he was still used at stud at 8 i charged £150.these dogs picked up 3-4 days a week on busy shoots were 200-300 bird days,to do that dogs have to be very durable.
  8. Drakeshead are the complete opposite to what you describe they are athletic build.
  9. f**k knows why they aren’t more popular Allan and bull Xs are popular.
  10. My mate had a first cross collie x lab he bought it from a farmer in Yorkshire dales were he used to beat & shoot rabbits,it looked like a smooth black collie very racie in build but taller, I remember saying to him it looks like a lurcher he replied it’s better than a lurcher and laughed.ive been on quite a few walks with this dog and it was mustard on rabbits around brambles it was a very good dog.
  11. W.katchum,I like Them because they have plenty common sense which we all know is not that common,I think the combination of common sense and a really good nose is what I like about them, when bushing there good at not flying about all over the place cos I’ve said it’s there, today they put a rabbit up that ran 200 yards across an open field so they took after it,the rabbit went into cover we’re theres some sets i gave him a few pips on whistle and he came straight back,5 mins after they put a hare up from under are feet they ran after it for 50 yards I shouted terrier and he stopped and came bac
  12. One or two pheasants knocking about so I don’t mind taking the odd one for the dogs, I managed to slow this one down enough for the dog to catch.
  13. This is my old lad Dan long gone now but a great dog he was out of Sam of Drakeshead trialling lines , he’s just the sort of dog you want over a greyhound.labs are greedy dogs but when marking game down I could push a pork pie in his face and he wouldn’t take it he was that focused on marking birds no joke, show labs are a world away from modern working labs, regards trialling labs needing more handling that’s not something that’s been bred in it’s brought on by over handling the dog in the first place instead of letting the dog hunt around it’s self, some owners never have the whistle out there
  14. If you put some time into the dogs training so he comes back well and sits still under pressure he will be fine but as an insurance put him on the lead as you are half to three quarters way through the drive ,you won’t be on your own there will only be a few we’ll trained dogs off the lead the rest will be pulling there owners all over the place some will be charging around picking birds up around the guns ,always remember it’s a whippet and you will be fine.
  15. Had ago at lamping tonight, wrong night really moonlit but it was just for a laugh, first rabbit clamped down nicely I was getting abit giddy, dogs couldn’t see until it ran, terrier was after it as fast has his little legs would carry him but dozie spaniel had been looking at me and lamp instead of were he was going so he had temporarily blinded himself the slack twat, next rabbit I picked terrier up so he had a better view which worked he ran straight at it but it was up and away.we had another run but now we’re near, I managed to squeak a fox upto 50 yards but it wouldn’t sit still for it’s
  16. Trev is the grew from racing stock ? Looks a lot more tuned into what’s going on than the whippet. Good video I enjoyed that.
  17. No both long gone, I’ve a similar dog now a Sealyham x Russell. You would struggle to get a decent Lucas now as most are pets which is a real shame as they are a great knock about terrier, mine did everything and more than you would normally expect a terrier to do.
  18. My mate had a springer spaniel x whippet which recently died age 10,for a first cross I couldn’t believe how much it had thrown to the whippet ,only give away was the ears which were smooth but large .it was very keen at hunting anything,it was too much for my mate who’s not that mobile has he’s getting on in years. Could have been a very good dog in the right hands.
  19. I am easily unimpressed with the likes of you.
  20. The whole point to this forum is to show others your dogs and what you get upto with them,if you don’t like that part of the forum it’s pointless you coming on.me personally I am pleased fox pack 2 is a regular poster,he puts great picks and is always modest,I say keep up the good work foxpack 2 and ignore this silly twat.
  21. I understand, nice dogs but to look at I prefer the plummers with shorter legs, what do you use them for?.
  22. Time well spent I would say, take no notice of the super dog men lol, will your dogs mark mole hills? I had a terrier that would mark the most recently used hills,I used to set trap a yard back from mole hill she marked,it was an affective method.
  23. I can see what folks are saying about worker to worker but I bet 90% of the collie greyhounds sold privately not directly from Hancock have Hancock blood Running through there veins, what is difficult is finding a first cross collie greyhound privately so folks are forced to go to Hancock, folks say he doesn’t work them but they are from working blood lines which is very important,I bred a Bedlington terrier from 98% Rillington blood lines I gave it to my sister in law who introduced it to the pet rabbit at 8 weeks and they were friends for life lol, I bred from this dog because of her blood li
  24. Gravy made from granuals, it’s like a flock of starlings leaving there arse.
