How dare you. ? There's nothing wrong with going on holiday to Wales. Glorious place it is. There's a lot going for it. there's green grass and lots and lots of sheep. Years ago I knew a bloke who went on holiday Every year to a Pontins holiday camp that was only about 10 miles away from his house. Why this country ? Wales is lovely but it's likely to be thrashing downwith horizontal rain whatever month. We stopped holidaying in the uk year's ago because of the rubbish weather and generally it was a lot cheaper to fly abroad and holiday. Crazy though that may seem. If I were holidaying in Wales I, for selfish reasons would like to be somewhere near the Mid Wales Shooting Ground. ?? . The Boys and I went there as part of a stag weekend. or a 410. I've just got back from shooting at a friends place. I've gone through 300 cartridges today. So I'll be out to restock with a couple of slabs. I'm not that fussed as to what they are. as long as they go bang and I put the lead on the target I'm sure that they will do their best.

P s. Another thing that I do is to only use the lamp very sparingly. I only use white and it's only a very quick , flash round and off. Their used to white light from vehicles. No point in spooking them. Then move like you did to close the distance. When I do lamp the target I either shine it on the ground in front of it or over the top, you can see the eyes like a golden glow. The gun is already mounted pretty much to where I estimate the target to be. The light goes on for about one second and bonk. This may account for my distance being around the eighty pace range.

I'm glad that my advice was of some use. The effect of bright moonlight on the target and the angle on that target may have an effect on how the target is illuminated. ( like having a much bigger more powerful light source or like looking towards a light. ). It's in conditions like this that fieldcraft comes into play with consideration of wind (If any) and background come into play. There have been many times when I have seen experienced shots just mulching about in fields or along skylines completely oblivious to the fact that they stand out like silhouettes. I have 22lr, 222, 223, 43 & 270 to chose from but over the years I have shot many more foxes with the 22lr than anything else. This is because I have used the 22lr rifle when wandering for rabbits. I was always loaded with rws subsonics for the rabbits. I never had high velocity rounds loaded and It was always a chest shot. Mostly I shoot at abour eighty paces because I noticed that, that was the distance when I could see a pair of eyes like a pair of binoculars. The targets nearly drop on the spot and the odd one might run 20 to 30 paces and then fail but this is quite normal with d

Well it's quarter past one Jan 1 2020 and I have just been doing some work on the computer and I thought .... I wonder if there are any planes up there on the first of Jan doing things and going places and I see that there is the plane from the other day on patrol out in the Channel again, cruising up and down in long loops from Margate down to about Dungeness point again. I cant see the point of anyone just throwing random ideas into the pot to make it taste bitter. Why not put something constructive in there. It's a good thing we are all anonymous online and not up the pub or it would just end in a mass brawl that kiwis Peckham could use against anyone having a gun. Or a dog or a ferret. Ext, ect. Hang on there chaps. This was started to ask if anyone knew the latest news regarding this. Where has this figure of eighty pounds come from ? There is no set figure. Some are charging nothing others are charging 200 and some are charging an amount but not replying to plod anyway so that is a complete rip off. I don't know what other doctors practises are like but mine is loads of doctors. You never see the same one every time and the one that I see most don't really know me from Adam. Oh it did. I wasn't having a go at you, It's when basic are mentioned it is like a red rag to me. Anyone who is a member is being sold very very short. Because the majority are sheep they have a lot of members and they present themselves as the voice of shooters but they don't rip the plod and make merry he'll with the politicians. The Daughter of a friend of mine is applying for a SG cert and plod has told her that she WILL have to pay for a doctors ok cert to apply. Anyone know what the latest is on this nonsense. Apparently some / most plod forces are now insisting on a Drs report for ALL SG or FAC applications or renewals. I'm reading conflicting information on this. If you have no medical condition of concern >>> such as Anger management, Depression or any other type of problem where there is a likelihood of you going La La then you don't need to report any condition. Well we're coming to another nice day a (#1) daughter's. Over the last two days a lot of food a d DrInk has been absorbed and I feel somewhat sluggish. Soon we will be heading back home and the dog will be wanting a good walk and I have to start thinking about getting stuff out for a days shooting tomorrow. weather for cast has changed from rain to overcast so all I have got to do is to put the lead on the target.

I'd like it to stop tommorow because I am out shooting and it would make life a bit more pleasant if it isn't leaking on me. I just checked the forecast and it has changed from light rain to overcast. That'll do me. I did prey to the rain God and it looks to be coming ok.
