If you are gonna get .22 mate, i would highly recomend the Ruger 10/22...i have two, and i LOVE 'em...ive shot all manner of game, in a number of states, and in a number if terrains...from 105F in the desert of Nevada, to -20F in Northern Arizona..they can be a little fussy on ammo, but i shoot Federal solid points through mine (98 cence for 50 rounds at Wal-mart!..lol.) never had a problem with it!...some dont liek them, and maybe im lucky with the ones i have, but i can easily get 1" groups at 100 yards, and 1/2" at 50-60 yards...im not much of a shot either, so a good shot could do better!.

Yeah, i wasnt knocking you Dan...just telling you what you already new..lol. I cant wait to get out with some coon hunters at night with the houds...Badger said he might line me up with nice Kemmer Cur one day, but im over dogged as it is right now!..lol...MO seems to have alot of good hunting spots and loads of game, so i cant wait!... Kye,..

lol@ratkillah...round the twist was mint!...some of em used to scare the shit outta me!..lol. Saved buy the Bell..that f*****g Screech guy..what a twat!..lol. Kye..

Hi Dan,.. If i was you mate, i would keep some dogs for treeing and some dogs for running coyotes...that way you could have two dogs for coon and treeing, and then two dogs for running/killing coyotes...sounds like you could end up with a kennel full of dogs that do neither of the jobs you want them to do very well!?.. I would go down the selective route..use coyote dogs for coyotes, and treeing dogs for treeing... Its easy for guys not been in the game long to try new breeding and such, but why reinvent the wheel?...i was lucky enough to get my first Stags from a top bloke who is a real h

Easy...PLUMMERS!...

I know what your saying mate...alot of the guys that keep Stags just dump them outta rigs onto yotes. To be honest though, i think its how you rear them mate...i use mine for hunting, not just coursing...they have to get out there and search for there game, jump it, then run and kill it...the guy that bred them does the same...the two Gyps have great scenting ability...my male has a good nose, but i like to keep one dog close incase summat breaks from cover andthe dogs doing the hunting cant see what they have flushed...you just have to use them for how you want them to be...if you get them

Ive used the 17hmr and the .22 alot since i have been here in the states.. I have killled every type of animal with the .22 ...rabbit, hare, crow, coyote..even some realy big ole critters!..lol. Best shot i have had with the .22 was 125 yards on a coyote...one shot. The .17hmr is a great little gun..but dont plan to eat anything you shot with it..talk about gut buster!..lol. I have had jack rabbits at 222 yards (lazer range finder)..if its windy you can forget it though...no recoil, and a nice handy tool for ground squirrels, praire dogs etc.. On larger game (fox, bobcat etc)

Well good luck with the hybrids mate...but i would say, if that type was succesful, all the coyote hunters would be breeding them, and NOT using Staghounds... When breeding coyote killing dogs, you HAVE to breed from dogs that kill them...do any of the parents course/catch/kill coyotes?...im not having a go at you mate, i just dont want anyone getting pissed of with there dogs...if you start with the right dogs that are doing the business, theer is no need to "wonder" what cross would be most succesful...there are already dogs doing it...yeah, every now and then they might get a little slow

When i was a kid, i watched all the good Carttons,...He-Man, Thundercats, Visionairies (spl??) It was simple stuff...the good guys where all good looking blokes, or fit lass' with big boobs, and the bad guys where horrible monsters, with bad skin and eyes.. The bad guys done bad things, and then the good guys beat the shit out of them, and thats was the end... ..just like real life!.. Nowadays, cartoons are just mindless rubbish!...i seen this one on TV the other day...no shit, it was called "Hyper Planet Ninja Monkeys..Go!" or summat along them lines!?...what the F K!...I dont have

Looks to be Burt in SD Avatar...

Hi there Dan,.. Mate, im moving to MO in around 30 days..have the house sorted and everything!...so im in the state right next door!.. I have three (well the wife has one and i have two) Staghounds at the minute...mine are still young, but they have killed jack rabbits, cottontails, gray fox and a feral dog which weighed 60lbs...buy the time i got there the wild dog was dead (about 2 minutes) You dont need any fancy cross's for Youtes Dan..theres dogs out there doing them...my youngest Gyps brother killed one at 14 months, single handed...he ran it down a culvert pipe, and drew it out

lol...i know what you mean mate! Just flew back in from MO...spent a day and half with FR and his family...a big thanks to him for picking us up, and letting us stay and driving us around everywhere!.. The place is LIFTING with game...deer, raccoon, rabbits, possom, fox, coyotes, everything you can think of...i cant wait man!..lol. Them Stags are bred solely for Coyote, but they are gonna be seeing a lot more of a varity of game, large and small!...lol...i cant wait!..i think i said that already though right?.. Kye..

lol...Hi DW...well, MY......head is bigger than YOURS!..LOL... I hope i dont start sounding to much like a yank...its funny you should say that though...i nearly blew Kanes and Ratkillas ear drums out when i met them in Roystons kitchen...i guess living in Vegas has made me larger than life...plus im 205lbs now!..lol. Burnie, thats a very kind offer mate...the problem is, with very well bred coursing pups, usualy comes a high cost of the pup...nothing wrong with that of course, but i have to ship them over and its very exspensive...i might be able to get summat over here, when im ready,

I would stick my neck out and say that the hares here (jack rabbits) are faster than the hare back home...but they seem to want to out run the dog more...of course, that could be down the the terrain there run on (much bigger than back home) also, there are three or four types of jack rabbit here, the most common being the black tailed jack rabbit...ive heard that thw white tailed jacks are more of a test though, i havent run any yet.. Out here the hares have much more to look out for...owls, eagles, fox, coyotes, wolfs, bobcats etc...so that has made them evolve into a much waryier creature
-
Hi Burnie,.. Yeah, theres some Salukis over here, but most (not all) are owned buy KC type people that attend NOFCA events...probably cost a fortune for a pup!..lol...a mate has a good friend that has a Saluki and they are thinking of breeding from it back in the UK...i might beg a pup from that...im not in any rush at the moment... I remember a while ago, there was a good bloke on here who bred a cracking litter of Saluki types...i think one (Anna and Willow was two of there names i think?) of them killed 11 blues hares in one days coursing at 11 months old...real well bred buy all accounts

Although killing LOADS of rats in one session is GREAT, numbers are not that important...i remember when i killed 10 in an hour with Bricca when she was about 16 weeks old...she was marking, killing, and droping rats like a Veteran...easily one of the proudest moments ive had with dogs... Kye,.
-
Some of the best fox dogs i have seen have had a funny dislike of tackling small cubs...sure they would go into bigger cubs, but smaller ones, it seems like they are just "above" killing such small creatures...ive seen the same with ratting dogs...when they find smaller rats in nests etc?... Kye,..

Alright guys and gals! The moves coming up, and we will end up with Kansas as our next door neighbour!...that means Coyotes and Hares galor!..lol. We got the Stags for the Coyotes (three at the moment, but might get another big male or summat to help in the first few seasons on the praire wolfs) and my very good mate down in OK has a nice Saluki bred dog for the wife...he has hunted rabbits and hares his hole life, and has some great hare dogs...i was just wondering what you guys would use on Hares on realy big land?...im guessing many would favour the 3/4 Saluki, 1/4 Greyhound?...the guys

If i was you mate, i would get a 100% solid recall in the day...then do the night time thing...if you keep calling her when she wont come, you are teaching her to NOT come back...i would keep her a little hungry, and get some rewards to her...what ever you do, DONT shine the lamp around the field...she will be 60 yards away with her nose to the floor, you will shine the beam, and there will be a rabbit infront of her...she could run it and then thats teaching her to run rabbits away from you...she will love running rabbits, so she is being rewarded for being an arse...it will come mate..just g

When i went bow fishing for carp, i took about five home to try and eat them..easily the WORST f*****g thing i have ever had...it makes me feel sick just thinking about it!..now i just boil them up and stick bits of it in the dog grub, or use them to bait coyotes into an area!... Kye,..

I guess it could be pest control, which we have all been asked to do, but i wouldnt do it again...plus i would tape that collar up mate!.. Kye,..

Road work, sprints, running out the truck, and swimming...not in any real order, although i do like to get road work done first to start to pull the feat up...just because of our VERY bad terrain!...i think swimming is GREAT on the dogs though...even have my Stags pull me along in the water when im in a Canoe!..lol...they love it! Kye,..

No mate...ive seen half cross bull greyhounds respect nets..and as you probably know, there a little keen!..lol. For ferreting, its best to get the pup out as soon as jabbed up...the younger the better...12 weeks is ideal...you can soon teach a pup to respect anything at that age...if your luck the dog will soon curl up and go to sleep with rabbits hitting the nets ...brings them up calm...but as the pup gets older, when its natural kill instinct starts taking over, THEN you have to handle things different!.... IMO, you get a well bred Beddie x Grey, and there is very little it WONT do.
-
I just had to shave the Choc dog i brought over from the UK...poor fecker nearly died of heat three days of being here...today is the first day that he hasnt had his tounge out all the time!...but its over cast and only 88F, so cold compared to last weeks 105F...MO should suit him better, there winter is colder than here...i dont show, so im not bothered what he looks like..lol...as long as he works hard!... Kye,..

If i was you, i would go for a Beddie X greyhound...if you could get a male of around 23-24" you could do all the rabbits you want and more than a few fox mate.. Just my opinion! Kye,..
