Im looking forward to using my Stags on a dig...i think the Male (Blister) would be better suited to the game though..he just has a more laid back attitude...the other real plus side with him is he lets terriers take HUGE libertys with him, and is very NON-dog aggresive...of course that could all change when a terrier is working a Coon and there are coon running everywhere in a barn etc..lol. When me and FR was in WY, we seen a fox about 30 yards from a earth...Blister seen it and took of after it, and it went to ground...i like to think he chased it to ground, but i think he would have gone

From what i have seen, the time you need a small dog over here is if your quarry is Ground Hog... The fox earths are the same size, and most of the Coon holes i have dug in (which 'aint as many as i would like..lol.) are the same size as back home in the UK...Ground Hog holes are REAL tight, especially at this time of year....but unless its a pest control job, i wouldnt want to hunt them now anyway...they have young in the ground, poison ivy is rife, and its hot as f**k...why not wait until the tubes have gotten bigger, and the GH have put on some fat and size due to them preparing for there

Yeah, i seem to get along with everyone i meet over here mate...there a good crowd on the whole...some messers, but some hard core doggers as well...so i guess its like back home!?..lol... Kye,..

Alright Guys,.. Anyone have any idea about these gadgets?..im terrible with this sort of stuff, and seem's as i live in America, these kind of things should be cheaper right!?... Anyone use one when there running/jogging, or training?...always nice to listen to a good tune while training!.. Anyone got any suggestions on a good, solid, cheapish model, that 'aint gonna confuse the living shit out of me, and you need to be Dustin Hoffman in "RainMan" to work the fecker!?..lol. If anyone has any good ideas, let me know!.. Cheers.. Kye..

Do NOT put vaseline, or polish or any "smothering" method on to kill a tick...the reason the Tick falls of when using this method, is because it is being suffocated..they breath through there abdomin...buy suffocating the Tick, its dies slowly, and it realises its dieing...there have been studys over here in the States (and lads, you havent seen Ticks until you have been over here!..lol.) and they have found that a Tick killed in this way releases a type of fluid INTO the dog...it can cause disease, infection and all kinds of horribles...best to prevent with what ever you fancy ie Frontline, s

I dont have to say who it was directed at...im sure they know who im talking about. My neck is always wound in...im an exstremly reasonable fellow, i will have you know!... Kye,..

Firstly Kye you have no idea of the standard that my stock are kept in so dont even comment on it, secondly I have not called this kid because of the appalling condition in which he keeps his ferrets, I have called him for not getting a ferret to the vets when it was in obvious pain, as in, a loose tooth and an absess! Is that easy enough for you to understand? Listen to me VERY carefully LM...where have i accused YOU!?...i have NOT!...so chill out!...i was NOT talking about you, as i DONT know you...so wind your neck in mate...where did i say that "Lord Missalot keeps there s
-
Sushie, READ my post mate... "IM NOT STICKING UP FOR THE LAD"...that means im not deffending him, YES he should take the ferret to a vet...OF COURSE HE SHOULD...i never said others wise. I was just saying that the words POT, KETTLE and BLACK come to mind when reading a few replys... I will except your appoligy, before it comes...your forgiven!..lol.. Kye,..
-
Its funny how some people have commented on how this kid keeps his ferrets, when THEY keep there stock in appaling condisions, that NO animal should ever be kept in.. :realmad: Im not sticking up for the lad, yeah he should get it to the vets...im just saying that people should look out of there own window and see how there stock is kept, and maybe sort there own fecking yard out!!!.. Kye,..

All that mountain running and grappling with sheep i should think!?..lol. Socks, did you get that knife?...or has Taffy robbed it?..lol. Kye..

Ive entered terrier to rat at ages from as young as 12 weeks, to 12 months,...ive never had a terrier ruined buy how we entered them...the only one that came close was a dog Royston owned...he started dropping rats, and messing around with them...so we kept him off them for a month and he has been hell on them ever since...all dogs are different, and should be treated as such...would i enter a puppy to rats again, whislt young?...if i thought it would benifit the pup, YES!...IF i thought it needed to be around 12 months, then i would enter it at 12 months (imo, a dog should be wanting to go at

Seen a few comment on here about Lurchers being smart etc...especially Collie hybrids. Just curious as to how smart a running dog HAS to be?...ive seen great Collie cross'...dogs that are just in the right place at the right time..ALL the time!..lol. They know what hole the rabbits/fox is gonna bolt from, they stalk the beam, not wasting energy, blazing up on sitters on the lamp and all that.. My old collie cross, if we wanted a decent run, we had to put him on a slip when ferreting..otherwise he would catch them within 10 yards of the hole!..lol. But ive seen OTHER types do all that

I dont care about Plummers, or DBP...i just love seeing RRUK signature!..."God bless Canada!"..lol... Kye,..

I could be wrong mate... The red bitch was hell for a puppy...she was killing rats (and i dont mean a few) with aggression at the age of 14 weeks...buy the time she was 8 months she was the best ratter i ever had...she killed hundreds. At 5 1/2 months she killed a 2lb mink buy herself...she got bitten up real bad, but she didnt even cry out once... She self entered at eight months to ground...i was just walking her and she popped down a earth...she was going at it fairly...got her out, and then a week later, she went down another hole that no one new about...she was just going carzy for i

I dont know about how much you can change a dogs personailty?.. I just brought a dog over from the UK...i dont know how old it is exactly (its two this winter i think?)...when i spoke to the previous owner (who WAS a mate, :realmad: ) i asked him how the dog was with stock, people, other dogs etc.. His words where.."To be honest Kye, the dogs a c**t!..he will kill any and everything, and if he cant kill it, he will fight it!".. So im thinking, "Great"!..lol. Take the dog out into the yard and introduce him to ours one at a time...all fine, just a few corrections...when introduce

Its funny you should mention that Socks,.. When i first came over here, all i wanted to do was take Coyotes with Lurchers...i was mad for it (well i still am!..lol.) BUT i have had SOOO much fun catching rabbits and hares with my dogs, i would never give up the humble "small" game.. Yeah, i like hunting toothed game...but i would never miss a good days ratting, or a days ferreting...infact, when people ask me "What do you miss the most?" i always say ratting and rabbiting!.. I honestly think its a phase people go through...they cut there teeth on rats, rabbist and the like...then they g

We all know of lines that are popular, or famous...Nuttal, Gould, Buck, Breay, Middleton, Jones etc.. But HOW do these lines start?...a guy gets a dog and a bitch, lines them, they produce a few litters, and thats how its starts?...or do they take someone else's line (who is just a quite guy who digs his dogs and breeds for his own use) breed a few litters and stick there name on the label so to speak?... We all know the totaly true story of the terrier "Trump" and the Milkman!?..lol..bet the Milkman was pissed when he seen HIS line being sold as anothers!..lol.. Just wondered what you m

Kane, they have just opened a season for them in MO,...limited amount to be harvested though...would LOVE to get one with the terriers...if we do, its getting mounted!... Kye,..
-
No digging to that one FR...probably just kill his quarry and drag 'em out!..lol.. Royston, i bet you miss him already...you seemed fond of his "private" parts when you last seen him!... Kye,..
-
If you guys had un-limited funds, and had the money to have full pet-passports for your hunting dogs, and a private jet to get you there, what, where, why and with what would you like to hunt... Im talking about with your terriers and Lurchers.. I think it would be great to hunt in Africa with my Stagounds!...to get a Caracaral (spl??) or Baboon! With terriers, digging wise...a great big american badger with one of me terriers in Kansas or Wyoming!.. Ive always fancied Africa...i have a friend, and her and her husband hunt there every year...the storys of the place, the wild life
-
The Plummers i have seen where probably the best bushing terriers i have seen work,...they flushed rabbits, fox and Roe...GREAT ratters...thats all the owner kept them for and he was very proud of them for there given task...as he should of been...only seen a few dug to...one was a great fox dog...the other where not alot of good to be honest...but for stuff on top, imo, they are hard to beat. Kye,..

Yeah, if i ever want to enter a show for Alpaca's i could enter the sapling i brought over...lol...i have always fancied showing old english bull dogs, so the pup Taffy give me should do me well!..lol.. It was a great time, shame about the time of year, like you said mate...will try and make it over in the season next time..will be good to see how that young dog of yours is turning out mate...i think he should be ok, but it is always so hard to tell with dogs!...i would just get his recall good all summer, then give him everything he wants this autum/winter...see how it goes mate,...your in

I would say that ANY proper dog man is geninue...they work there dogs hard,...but they care for them like they should, feed only the best, keep them in the best condisions they can, and they love there dogs...they respect there quarry,...not affraid to speak there mind, breed only from the best,...dont pass dogs on that have failed, to go from pillar to post... They might help mates out of a sticky spot...say a guy loses/has his dogs stollen...a genuine bloke will give him stock to bring on or get him past the season... I was offered a VERY nice, well bred male when i was in the UK...for n
