As above. Im getting well sick of shooting and rabbiting and the flys are just taking the p*ss now. Not bothered if its a spray or one of those bands i just need something to keep the flys off me. Anyone use something that works a treat??

Religion is a terrible thing. People are brainwashed into all kids of stuff. we must remember though that although we critiscise these "backward" folk us in the UK can be just as stupid. We still have protestants and catholics killing each other in the name of religion. We complain about animal cruelty but let hallal meat go without a word. If i had my way i would abolish religion. Worst thing thats ever been invented.

Stealth camera question

Im looking for a wildlife/stealth camera and thought i would ask you lads as they seem to be becoming popular with keepers. Is there one that will take pictures/videos when there is movement but doesnt flash?? Im getting robbed too regular at my allotment and want to find out who is responsible by filming them in the night. Obviously, if the camera flashes then it will get pinched too. cheers

Nice one neil. Havent even given sloes a thought yet, might have a mooch tomorrow. This is going to be a cracking bramble year, your right, seems to be loads of bees about to pollinate the flowers, maybe the pro beekeepers will know why. My bramble hedge is full of green brambles at the mo, gonna be a bumper crop in a couple weeks!!!

Never say never. Me and me mate saw an osprey in the local reservoir catch a fish but few believed us. Ive never heard of wild eagles in yorkshire but the lake district has had goldens and there are white tailed south of edinburgh so its not impossible as its not that far in a straight line. Many see buzzards and think they are them but if youve seen them before and know what they look like then who knows. Maybe, just maybe, its a pair of redtails that have escaped. There are plenty that have in the uk. They are BIG birds and i would guess it would be easy to get them muddled up with eagle

Trimming back my bramble hedge yesterday when i came across 3 big fat black brambles. Anyone beat that?? Im guessing down south someone will have been picking by now? Another fortnight and i will be knee deep in them!

Yes Joe. If they are the same gooseberries im thinking of then use the same water to berry ratio and if they truly are sweeter than normal ones use an ounce or two of sugar less. Let me know how you get on!!!! Remember, err on the side of caution and dont overcook. Runny jam is better than solid stuff until your used to making it.

Just thought id show my latest jam off. Even if you dont like goosegogs (im not keen) you will LOVE gooseberry jam. This batch was exceptionally good. Perfect taste, perfect consistency. Unlike some bramble jam i just made from frozen brambles. Top tip. If youve got frozen brambles try to make jelly not jam, the seeds seem rock hard after theyve been frozen.
