  1. I used to have one a lot thinner than that, but i was just an amateur. Are they usually as thick as your little finger?thats a lot thicker than i thought. Also, how tight was the bend at the top ? and is it imperative to have a point on the end? cheers
  2. Beautiful animal mate, the gun looks a cracker too.

    On Creance

Ive always found its not the distance your bird will fly, its the speed at which she comes to you will tell you when she is ready to fly loose. If she is flying, say 50 yards the second you whistle without hesitation, then introduce her to the lure and fly her free. If she is looking, and thinking about it then she aint ready to fly free. My last harris i took from the aviary and was flying free in a record time of 4 days. The first time a flew one i spent weeks before plucking up the courage to let her loose. Its a BIG step ( one of three) and the first time you do it every possible scenari

Its the same stuff as headlice- read the back of the bottle and it will say. I know someone who caught them when he was a young stallion!( many years ago)
  7. OOOooHH.. i'll have a southern comfort, and the ladies toilets are FILTHY!!!............Ya big puff!!!
  8. Shooting pheasant all day, then there is a pyjama party at the local pub- sounds fun to me and i wont have to get changed when i get home and go to bed which should give me more drinking time!!
  9. I could never get away with JD. Thought it was just hype and pr that made it a top seller, nothing else. Whyte and mackay is my whisky. But, above everything, there is NOTHING like a large G&T with ice. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMm
  10. Went to lidl in the boro yesterday and got myself a set of these night vision monoculars. Got to say i am well impressed!! The clarity was excellent and could see brilliantly in the dark. This was only in the garden and surrounding area so i havent tried them out while hunting but if last night was anything to go by, i strongly recommend them at that price. al
  11. I want to get into pigeon shooting this next year. My question is, are these pop up tents any good or is the netting better? There are plenty for sale in the magazines and i was wondering if anyone who has bought one could tell me pro's and cons regarding them. cheers . Ps if anyone has any cheap decoys etc for sale please get in touch.
  12. First get a mole trap. Usually you will be able to purchase 2 different types ( there are more) the traditional scissor type and the duffus half barrel type. Easiest to set is the scissor type for a beginner- the shop should show you how. If you can, stick the trap in the garden for a few days to get the smell off, you can leave them for months but you wont want to do this. If you can lend a used trap off a mate then even better. Use a stick to find a run between the hills, when you have use a trowel to expose the run. Smooth the run down where the soil has dropped and plant the trap in the

  14. Ive got the .22 "style" and find the trigger great. no problems.
  15. Cheers john, that makes a lot of sense mate.
  16. Cheers boys. I think it looks great ( the synthetic one) and it doesnt get a bad write up anywhere- the only negative comments seem to be that its a bit "gimmicky", although i would like to know more about what john galway wtote about the bullet getting caught in the start of the barrels on the .22 lr- a possible problem. I must be thinking hard about it because i was sodding dreaming about it last night! Like it was mentioned, the clicks for the scope settings could be recorded on barrel change and set accordingly. I suppose most of us have a "best/dear" set of sights so this set up would b

    khan v earl

I watched a few of khans fights and couldnt believe the spuds that they keep picking for him. Boxing is soo bent its unbelievable. If manchester united said "we wont play liverpool cos they might beat us, but we will play derby cos we will probably beat them" there would be hell on, but it happens all the time in boxing. UFC RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Wow. never heard of that before. Often when ive killed one with a hawk, some will congregate around me and make a right racket obviously trying to intimidate/scare me and the bird, but ive never heard of one imitating a buzzard!! you live and learn

    eyelet closer

Just adding my tuppence worth but i dont rate the plier type. I got some and the anklets came off two days running. I ended up going back to the old faithful twist type.
  20. Well done sean. Its good sense to start integrating new quarry to your bird, and you will get some great flights at feather. good luck.
  21. Well done greengrass. I hate reading things like that, it must have been awful for them.
  22. Parent reared birds are generally quiet, if the bird has been imprinted, even a little, the results can be a very noisy bird.
  23. Shocking, but we are pi**ing against the wind. The majority of tree-huggers and veggies etc live in the cities and it is these same people who are in charge of the countrys media, therefore giving a one sided view of hunting and blood sports on the television and in the newspapers. im surprised that this video was even aired.
