sense spoken.no different to us chucking a live lobster in boiling water. Hm I get what you're (both) saying but for me it's a bit about motivation and objective. When i drop a crab into the pan, or gut/ prepare a fish, I'm def not doing it for 'theatre' or 'spectacle' and would always want to be causing least poss suffering to the creature. I like my fish fresh, but there are limits....

Cheers mate, any difference between that and the 211.5? different numbers for different pitches they are numbered so you can get the same whistle again. I find if some one on tv is using the same whistle the dog comes fly out the bed lol I always find my dogs don't listen to anyone else's whistle , even if it's the same pitchI've been wondering about this... (I look on the gun dogs section, and a few YouTube clips...) how is it that most people have the same brand whistle, and use the same commands, and yet their dogs know to listen for the right toot? (I used a cheap whistle from pets at

So sorry to read that. What a horrible worry. Can you ring the vet and ask for advice as to whether it's safe to continue taking her out, and for a bit more information about her condition. Very best wishes to you and her.

No insult intended, but it's the Internet; I don't know you. And (as is easily evidenced by a recent new member post on here) there are too many people breeding too many dogs for what appears to be no reason other than to make money.

Arden Grange (green bag, lamb and rice). My old greyhound shat bowlfuls of noxious custard for the first few weeks I had him, until I tried him on this. It was almost miraculous. (Obvs no guarantee). It's 25% protein, so should give her all she needs in these first settling in weeks, and I still always have a bag in now with my new little dog for if I've run out of his stew. However, I would recommend you follow Bird's advice and give her some chicken boiled in a little water, (I'd add pinch of fennel seed to help settle her tum) with cooked white rice or potato, for a few days. (I really

From your previous thread about her, it sounds like she's been moved from pillar to post recently... she may just have nervous stomach from all the upheaval. You know she's now in a permanent loving home, but it may take her a few weeks to understand that herself.

I dont know much about BARF but the OP's chicken mince sounds to me like a quite high bone: meat ratio, so wouldn't some extra protein be beneficial?

Thyme, juniper, sloe gin / blackberry jam. Long and slow, as said above. Ideally eat day after it's cooked.

Not as impressive as Kanny's piece of amber, but we once had a live frog in a bag of coal. Was v freaky.

Couple of things I'm working on with my little dog (15 months) are STOP! and then, while he's still fired up and feeling hunty or chasey, but looking at me, throwing a ball (using one of those wanger thingies, because I can't throw) to distract him from scent and draw his focus back on to 'him and me' energy. Also have spare ball in case he doesn't bring it in close first time. Then once he's back in tight walking next to me, lots of focus, praise, frankfurter, eye contact. (NB I know nothing about hunting /dog training and don't live near deer. And it's def only work in progress.)

How can a man believe in equality of the sexes Every word that ends in "ist" is a bad thing It doesn't stand for equality anymore, they want privilege. Women are already treated equally, they DO earn the same money for doing the same job despite the BS the MSM pump out. Women are more likely to go to University, they are more likely to get employment and women under the age of 30 on average earn m ore than men. This is in the UK and USA. If feminists cared about women they'd be campaigning against genital mutilation not making up fictitious stories of how terrible it is

now that sounds the dogs dangles, what about a paella ? I get cockles mussels and clams in the same spot aswell? With chorizoWell with all that to hand, and depending on how many you're feeding and over how many days, I'd be inclined to save the razors and the clams for other dishes than the paella. (Which will be delicious with the cockles, mussels, chorizo and ting).Clams, do with lemon butter parsley saffron (splash cider? ) and linguine, or lovely bread to dip in Razors, pork ragout (bolognese ish) with fennel and toms maybe pinch thyme. I should never look at food topics when I'm hung

Get the sand out of them!!!! (Google how to) I buy and cook them in Spain every year no probs. bought them once from my local fishmonger... load of sand in the bottom of pan. Tomatoes fennel and some leek or onion. Cook like you would mussels or clams. I usually splash some Ricard in to fried fat tomatoes leeks and garlic and then stir the razor clams in, put lid on for a few mins and then add flavours or liquid according to what I've got in. (Fennel seeds and white wine or good stock?) Potato wedges done in chicken dripping and pinch smoked parika and sea salt goes well. V jealous.

Any of you chaps been? Is it remotely an enjoyable alternative to Le Mans? (Shit wife / shit mother dilemma... Got himself Le Mans tickets for christmas and stupidly only just noticed date is daughters birthday).

Padnasol Alternative ?

Not sure if this is helpful .... If you're considering using human jollops, Flexitol heel balm is magic for cracked heels. Think its signif component may be urea, so obvs look into whether it's toxic for dogs. Or my dads cure for everything skin.... cold pressed olive oil. -
So, inspired by the Scot Rea recipe on this thread, and what I had in, I made this the other night. It was pretty good. Partridge Paprikás with Papparadelle. (Served 2 with a bit left over for my lunch) 1hr 30, minimum effort or cheffiness. 1 partridge Olive oil or chicken dripping (I used a bit of both) 1/2 big onion finely sliced 4 good tomatoes cut up. 1 garlic clove chopped fine 1 large glass White wine (less than 200ml) 2 or 3 tsps ordinary (sweet) paprika 1/3 tsp smoked paprika pinch dried thyme Tsp tomato chutney S+P Big dollop soured cream. (More than half a sm

I have a people-wary dog. Get her used to the vet. This has been a really tricky issue for us. As Skycat says, don't let people say 'oh I love dogs' and try to force their attention on her. In my experience this just makes it worse. Be prepared to offend your friends and neighbours as many of them will ignore your request to 'just ignore her she'll approach you when she's ready'. Odd though this may sound, mine is fine and pretty relaxed in pub for lunch. The other people are focused on their own food, and not so ready to try and stroke dogs while they're eating. (Also he gets a bag of m

Thanks all. He's licking it a lot. I'll get some of that cut n heal spray too.

I've bathed it in salt water. The dog's now asleep. Should I just leave it uncovered? Or put antiseptic on? And cover it, so he can't lick it?
