  1. No sir, mine is also a single shot but has an ejector. Thanks.
  2. Another name is hammer. It's what the flint in the jaws of the cock strike and shaves fine whisps of red hot steel towards the pan full of prime. A flintlock.
  3. its a remi 700 but I had the barrel shortened, to make it more usable,Oops, sorry, my mistake. My last Remington was a SPS tactical in 308. Once I got the barrel off the fore end and stopped the closed bolt touching the stock a pet load would produce a one hole group as long as I shot good.
  4. I just used a lighter bullet. 63grn radway green ammo and loaded with some crimp 55grn ballistic tips. The rifle, a Remington was giving 1" groups@100yards.
  5. Lads, years ago I use to buy mil surp ammo. Pull the bullets and stick a premium expanding in its place.
  6. I always keep 3 or 4 of the Napier pads in the cabinet. Got that VP90 stuff in them that stops rust and corrosion.http://www.napieruk.com/acatalog/Super-VP90-Corrosion-Inhibitor-VP90_.html http://www.napieruk.com/acatalog/Super-VP90-Corrosion-Inhibitor-VP90_.html Don't know if it's all BS but I've never had any problems while I've been using them.Have heard they work well myself. I always wanted to fit a 12v bulb in my cabinet to created a gentle heat but never got around to it. Not sure I'd recommend that. Fastest way to rot anything is moisture + heat. Most cabinets are in cool
  7. Do you use 357 in the field? I think it is a wonderful cartridge for the UK.
  8. They are dead, just don't know it for a while, quite normal.ATB.
  9. It's a shame it is so expensive to shoot a cf now. Even reloaded it cost a fair amount today. My last cf was 357m, that was still reasonable cost wise, even factory ammo. Hornet reloaded can be done cheap still due to it efficiency. We experimented with some cheap full patch 45grn bullets from S&B in 22-250 on fox and they worked well. Certainly good for a quarter the cost of a premium bullet. The real shame is that it discourages shooting for familiarizing with the rifle. R.
