  1. Boy would that be a sight, especially the scene after ? I don't know what to say except, I hear you partner ?
  2. Toxo asked what length! I forget to answer (and check) but think mine is 68". It's a buck trail. It's quite smooth and at my draw (29") it doesn't stack. The limbs are quite thick near the nocks and I often wonder if it would be a little faster if they were made with more tapering towards the nock. Mine is #50@28". I bet a #35-#40 is sweet to shoot. As for ELB it's not for me but have seen lads build them selves up to shooting #130 war bows with arrows as thick as stair rods at shoots! I had a go once. The bow and arrow stayed put and it was me that went flying!!
  3. Sometimes, that could be a tempting offer!
  4. Excellent stuff. Bet you wish you had a cheap AFB now you seen my group! That's a free style rig in field target I think. That cut on contact looks awesome. I was thinking of switching to mechanical as and when.... Which crossbow mate ?
  5. Take a look at this photo. You can see the hole the squirrel tried to escape in but Jess stopped it nearly fanging it. It ran to the next tree and back to the hole and back to the other tree as Jess was on its tail. It was its third run at the hole that Jess lost it so I could blast it as it got home. Talk about fast action! It was a hard five hours hunting today with a first, my first partridge to a muzzleloader! I walked two miles or more to get on some pheasants that have summered in a corner of a farm and woodland. The first bird was straight forward. A
  6. It's not short for Allah Akbar is it ?
  7. Years ago you use to be able to get primed WMR brass. Using 25acp shell holder and I forget which bullet seating die one could reload WMR. Dunner bother mate with lr.
  8. Ahhh, your first ticket. Nice feeling. Well done buddy. U.
  9. Toxo, yes, I did wonder. Yes, so many things are illegal. So many natural things are illegal and yet some go to war illegally and kill millions, go figure! U.
  10. It's underlay mate. Mind you, many years ago I shot a home made broadhead through a poor target butt and it passed through the washing basket! It shredded a shirt of mine and just missed her best dress at the time!! That had me stressing for a while as I frantically emptied the basket! ?
  11. Just picked my bow up with two years of dust on it and shot this group! Ok it was after 20 arrows and relearning the cant on the bow. 11 yards. Hmmm, may just need some tough arrows and errr different tips and it might be worth a nice walk with it ? U.
  12. Red LED is good for rats, they can't see it.
  13. Yeah, makes me laugh. A line of guns killing any amount of driven birds but couldn't care less about what happens to them after the day but let me put a picture up of a rifled one, catties one or even arrowed for the pot and they all want to flogg me! Hypocrites. Caveats....not all shoots are the same.
  14. Happy days. The weather stopped me last night but I am due a look about. Maybe tonight.....
  15. Well done Stavros. I hate shooting over rape! Which rifle?
  16. Yes mate, they are good eating. I keep forgetting to take a baggie with me so I can peel them warm.
  17. When the wind blows and deeper penetration. No split necks. There's nowt wrong with 17hmr, I only leg pull about it but honestly, if I want to shoot a bullet less than 25grn it either has to be by air or have a hell of a lot more powder behind it than hmr can offer. Think 17Rem. With the REM I have a chance at 100 yds in a gale and with air I have to be that close a gale won't bother it anyway. The 120yd bird today was in some left to right wind. Hmr would of wanted quite a bit more there and I would of been guessing. I only had to consider drop which was nowt. Just rather
  18. Nine's hours afield today and yes I am knackered! Bit of a grey day but good to be out. No foxs seen and very little if no sign. I found a fox carcass on the boundary of a shoot which I thought was grand. No fresh turds or prints. Fat squirrels though, got some whoppers today. Got a chance of a long shot on a pheasant, sadly a hen, I usually leave them but @120strides as it turned out to be I fancied a rested head shot! Shot one went just a little high but shot two gave the hen a new ear hole! Not bad for WMR. Eight squirrels, one
  19. Nuts int it, some bunny hugger phones the rspca that some vermin is in peril. Rspca collect vermin and give it expensive treatment. When healed they relocate vermin. That's the illegal bit! Muppets. Well done gaffa. U.
  20. Experts, EX=the unknown factor and PERT=erect nipple!
  21. Six tubs! That's a lifetime supply! Keep your cases upside down and you can skip the torch thing. I'm an engineer too. That's how I came up with a better method than a torch and I studied which powders are suitable in the first place ?
