  1. Does your mate get blowed around on windy days ? If I went up to Gavs gaff in an electric car I would need a genny with me. Besides he's too tight to let me run a lead out of his bedroom window!?
  2. Too old to worry about looks. ?
  3. I don't lamp with a frontstuffer. There are no more good keepers around me anymore, just jumped up demi gods that like their bums felt. I got out and can enjoy just caring for my wild birds and birds walking off their shoots. The last keeper that had an ungrateful attitude to me paid dearly!
  4. That's why I do it with low powered rifles and black powder or conventional shotgun. I have to stalk in close. It more me and them, one on one sort of thing. I know professional folk view it differently and have been there myself. U.
  5. The charging in issue! Can one remain tax free in an electric car but tow a small trailer with a little diesel generator in it and a cable running to the car? U?
  6. Never been a fan of bullseye in medium to large pistol cases. It's to fast in my opinion. Small cases yes. Can you blag a small amount of herco or greendot. Hodgegons Lil gun or similar. By the way load your primed cases in the tray primer up. Only charge a case that has it's primer showing. That way you won't double dose a case. You'll know it if you double dose!!! Another reason I don't like bullseye in large cases!
  7. He does but i don't believe he uses trail cams, hence the wings, probably. Fair play ?
  8. Does not the op use high tech gear? Did he not post a picture of wings ?
  9. Yes absolutely..... As long as you or whomever puts the tail cameras in the right places! How many cameras is enough? That could be like answering how long is a piece of string? By the time the ground is covered completely by cameras you won't have time to process all the data??
  10. Ok, good points but the intelligence has to be very good or all the latest kit will still miss something! I use my daytime walks and knowledge of the land to look for sign and listen to the pheasants. They will tell you if a fox is about. Wrens too will tell you if a predator is in thick cover. A fresh turd, a pheasants wing or two. Put a brick or stone on favorite runs, they love to mark them etc. So when I go for a "wonder" with a lamp I have a good idea where to hang around. I do fancy a trail camera though! U.?
  11. Wow, first one I have ever seen Good honest to goodness workman's guns ?
  12. Well done buddy but that looks like a youngster and not a clever old sod! Hope I'm wrong. You had some fog too, or does your truck need a service? U
  13. Yes they will be thinking about pairing even now. I know I look forward that time of year again, soon comes around again.?
  14. Hmmm can't help really. I stuck with jacketed and green dot and herco. Yeah don't try and bench rest as one does a heavy bolt rifle. Keep a hand between forensic and bench bags. Adjust the height so you sit more upright. I have up on all that and shot exclusively off hand and called the shots I pulled.
  15. That's fancy gizmos for ya , a proper lamp and you'd be rid of him by now ?
  16. I can be grumpy without being cold and wet!
  17. If the stock is to short mate but you think you can shoot it reasonably well how about a slip on stock extension. Usually plenty on eBay. U.
  18. Nowt worse on the day mate. You'll get him. U.
  19. I had a fallen bird hit on me 31 years ago. Left a huge impression and ended up married to her!
  20. Oops yes, wrong terminology for here! Cosmos, Aya had a series of single barrels called cosmos. Not sure if they made them mind! U.
  21. ...means alot to me but it helps if I get out first ? A quick scuttle about at first light and I was shooting at crows and Jackie's. Missed most! Then Jess worked a squirrel and between us got it to pose for a picture. On the way home two pheasants left a hedge bottom. The first was a not so good opportunity but the second was so I shot. It was a going away shot at 50yds! I guess full choke is handy sometimes. The gun was not ejecting to well and on inspection I had surface rust in the chamber! Shame on me! When I got home I fitted a mop and wire
