  1. I consider myself quite lucky in all this - I'm doing a lot of overtime and a lot of miles at the moment but, I've got a company van and a fuel card - it also means that I haven't got much time for driving my own car.

He was married when he first went mate - his kids grew up in Sri Lanka...... they've got really fond memories of the place His kids are grown up now - it's hilarious when they surprise people over here with the fluent lingo

Same here - Tunisia in the 90s was bad enough...... horrible place, horrible people. I could have slapped that feckin travel agent. My Uncle has just retired and come back to the UK - He's been working in Sri Lanka, Sierra Leone, Ethiopia and the Congo for the last 30ish years. He said the Congo was shit but, he liked the rest of it....... he's even thinking of going to live out his retirement in Ethiopia.
  7. Sod that today - it was hot enough walking up and down sidings earlier but, at least there was a little wind. I'd be tempted to knock that on the head for the day and come back early tomorrow morning to get more done.
  8. She made pudding today - Chimichangas with banana, pecans, chocolate and cinnamon sugar and, clotted cream ice cream
  9. Cheers Arry - I'll give that a look
  10. I didn't do the flour and egg - I just went straight for the breadcrumbs. They tuned out ok - I think I made the mistake of making the mix too creamy, like when I make mash. Lesson learned I did a couple with chopped up sweet pepper and birds eye chilli - little 'un liked those so, I got a small win
  11. Right then Stav', this happened a while back with your corned beef pie - it looked so nice that it got stuck in my head for a few days until I eventually made one Well, it's happened again - I've made some basic bread crumbs and, I've got a mix of mashed white potato, sweet potato, butter, cream, salt, pepper and 2 tins of salmon cooling down in the fridge - I'm hoping it'll firm up and not turn into a mushy disaster in a bit when I fry them ??
  12. I was just being a twat mate but, the sandstone and timber does sound nice
  13. I think you should tile them for him aswell - some of those nice blue and white ones, like you see on holiday, then you could whitewash that bit of wall - proper job ??
  14. I'd like to hunt with a bow, after a bit of practice of course. I think you'd be lucky to drop anything big on the spot - it looks like the idea is to create a large wound channel with a broadhead then, find your prey. Probably not too difficult to do when they're bleeding as they run.
  15. Don't write it off - it looks well made. .......... I'm going to sneak in a hip flask and some pork scratchings when I go
  16. To be fair, it does look like a good film.
  17. That went down a treat, with new potatoes done in garlic and butter
  18. I get home from work to find that she's been cooking - result And there's some homemade coleslaw in the fridge.

I could probably come up with that if it involved flying over to France and emptying the magazines ?
  20. I have a pair just like those for when I clean and lube my .177 pellets
  21. I've never used them but, they look fairly decent for less than $22 - import should be ok ?? We get issued good gloves at work but, I don't think it's what he's looking for.

I don't doubt it mate but, regardless of what side they're on, there's probably a decent theological conversation to be had. Like the bloke that released the bomb over Hiroshima - I'd love to know what his thoughts were years later when he was sat somewhere alone and quiet.
