  3. 9 is a very respectable age to get to and it's good she got out to enjoy last season.Do you have any relations of hers to keep the line going?.
  4. Some people just don't understand the time and commitment put into keeping poultry and how devastating it can be to loose them to the red menace. Good luck with getting him and with your new flock.
  5. Thanks guys I'm hoping he does well for me. My other dog has settled fine with him so once he's had his vaccinations he'll be out with stock and in other environments.
  6. I went up today and got my pup.The whole litter were in great condition and had clearly been brought up correctly. He wasn't sick during the hour an half drive home and is already bringing stuff around so it's looking good.

  12. I had this in my house last year. Had no end of them outside as well. They seemed to disappear on there own after awhile. Don't know whether it was the weather that made them come in or what.

  17. I never intended for my springerXcollie to be a bushing dog at all but after following a few rabbits into cover he's taking to it quite well.At 3 year old he's abit late to it all but hes throw more to the springer size and will enter loose cover and will go in tighter if there's something in there, got a great nose on him and hopefully will develop better in the coming months.
  18. The big problem over here is red kites.People feeding them in their gardens are causing them to gather in huge numbers and they are decimating ground nesting birds.
  19. Yes is a bit different,I definitely wanted whippet in the mix after seeing a few half and full breds working. Both parents are good workers and have good even temperaments but the way this pup will do will be down to my training so hopefully if it is half as good as the parents I will be happy.
  20. There has never been many buzzards in my area, foxes are a rare sight too as this area is keepered with numerous release pens so foxes get quite a hammering.I suppose that helps the rabbits to breed without much predation ,well not yet anyway!
  21. Thanks for the offer Socks but I think I've found the pup for me.A mate of mine put me on to a litter of 3/4 whippet 1/4 bull pups. These were much more confident and curious about the world around actually wanting to be with people. I have reserved a dog pup I feel best suited with temperament and attitude ready in a few weeks.
  22. They started breeding much earlier this season over here so that could be the reason for so many young.
  23. Well went out yesterday to look at the pups and there was only 1 dog pup left.I didn't feel he was what I was looking for in terms of temperament so I left it. Slightly disappointed but I'm sure I'll find the right pup in the end.
