  1. A moderator on what Darren. Mark was doing a full tune on P15 / P35 for around £130 including fitting one of his shrouds which is what he quoted me but I didn't us the gun outside of my garden so I didn't bother, use the FX for most of my hunting but his reputation is really good. Phil

  3. I think the upgrade brought some little annoying downsides but with any luck, Ian has sorted it. Phil
  4. I find they work well so give them a chance big fella. Forget the old addage about old dogs and new tricks, sometimes we have to try new stuff as well Jimmy. Phil
  5. Having problems so this is just to see if I can post any bloody thing.....
  6. I had the HC and as a couple of our members on here may recall how badly I shot with it, that is until another of our members tuned the gun and fitted a Tinbum kit after which it was bloody amazing, absolutely pellet pn pellet which pleased me no end but sadly I found it just to heavy to carry around so sold it. What a mistake to make, I wish I had kept it. Phil
  7. If there was another way to buy some of the guns and gear, we would but they now have so many brands, it is very difficult not to deal with them. I am just pleased for my friend now all is good and as an afternote he bagged 2 ferals, 3 woodies and 3 crows on the first time out and only out for an hour before the activity dried up so he is a happy chappy. Phil

  10. The final chapter :- Two new Impact Mk3 guns arrived today at the rfd, both were checked for power through the chrono, 11.5 average. 200 JSb pellets and my good friend is over the moon with pellet on pellet grouping...........................................thank fcuk for that so on the ferals tonight.
  11. The final outcome. Sportsman could find no fault then after a further chat with my pal, they went back into their test range and the gun was producing a shotgun pattern. They changed every part they could but nothing stopped the issue to the point that FX told the Sportsman to scrap that gun. Two new guns are being sent to the rfd next week and my pal is to pick one of them. I have to say that the rfd has not done a good job in terms of reporting the issues as Sportsman tech team were unaware of some of the problems. With a bit of luck, this should be an end to this on going saga w
  12. Ah, I didn't know that, I thought it was normal power, pretty stupid is that if the idea was to let them grow into a full size stock but only half the power. I am sure when I chatted with the BSA rep in my rfd, he never said they were reduced power, I bet they dont sell many in that case. Phil
  13. They do make the Ultra in a junior version as well, a normal size stock can be bought when needed.
  14. Love shooting ferals and so it seems does your grandson who appears to be holding on to your hw rather tightly me thinks NP. ? I picked up a couple of pigeon deeks which have been painted with more white areas just like ferals often are and with a telescopic pole and tree hangers for lofting deeks, we can just reach some of the barn gutters, they really work well. going to try it with crows next time as we get plenty of the buggers which clear off after one shot so perhps it may help, we will see. Phil
  15. In what way if it's pellet on pellet Billy.
  16. As fans of FX Guns there is no alternative to Sportsman, ASI the previous importer were excellent in their after sales service but this lot can simply afford to give big orders to manufacturers like FX, CZ, ATA, Pard and others more is the pity....... Phil
  17. The saga continues, the Impact returned to the rfd today with my pal and myself waiting. First job to test through the Skan chrono, first couple of shots reading 9.6fpe but then went up to 11.45fpe average for another 10 shots, all looking good. Tested Exact 8.44 then Heavy at 10.34 but both produced poor groups, now this was a surprise to say the least as Sportsman Gun Centre had send back three targets shot at 25yds as as tight as can be, about the size of my little finger nail. Utter bollocks, what gun they used is unknown but it was not my pal's gun. between the two of us we sho
  18. In the UK, Hatsan are not an expensive gun in fact they are very much an economy based gun and not worth messing about with. It would be cheaper and much more effective to simply buy another Hatsan in .22 as the task would need good gunsmith to carry out the work, just not worth the expense. Phil
  19. Went to the rfd with my pal as the gun arrived back from Sportsman Gun Centre with all the issues now sorted.............................NOT. First job to test groups with different pellets at 25mt, all rather like a shotgun pattern with the exception of JSB Exact Heavy which were better but not good more like just about passable, 20mm group !!!!. I took my Snowpeak .22 to rezero and was getting tight cloverleaf groups and on a gun that cost me about £450 so compare the results to a gun costing £1850 and needless to say I rezeroed my Wildcat fac with pellets again, single hole groups w
  20. Are you available Mitch, may be needed sooner rather than later. ?
  21. We have just picked up a new rabbit perm which has the most prolific warren area I have ever seen so last night I popped over there, this time on my own with both the Wildcat fac and my Tikka .22lr rimmy, not to bore you with details, it was only a short session but still had 17 in just under 2hrs and before darkness kicked in. This afternoon, my wife was out seeing friends (ladies that lunch) so after tinkering with my pal's pistol, I decided to pop round to my dairy farm to shoot a few crows that along with the pigeon get stuck into the cattle feed. First shot on the barn roof, nothing,
  22. Oh my god no, we are old farts so hand pumps would likely give us a heart attack ?. We have several air tanks each so always use them. It has a max pressure of 250bar and the air cylinder is not so big so if you don't have a tank, a hand pump should be fine.
