I"m liking your train on thought FD. I to have never seen a big cat even though I'm an old f****r now done years of shooting foxes, rabbits and few other thing before the law changed. As said before was doing it for pelts frowned on now with the fur trade gone. Lamping at least 3 nights a week skinning the other days only once did I see some eyes that I knew were different. Can't say it was a Big cat but it was animal quite large and covered some ground very bright eyes, who knows. But mates I shot, dug and ferreted with have seen them as I have said before. Their accounts are very c

Out with the ferrets today, beautiful day with a right chilly wind. Couldn't do the hedges we wanted to fields running with water and there seed fields, didn't want to make a mess. Never seen so much water running of the ground. Only managed 5 and on of them had mixie, still nice to be out. Cheers Arry

It was thought the Romans didn't get as far was as South Devon but they found a Villa in a place called ippelepen near me which we ferret. He won't let me metal detect as its all horse paddocks. Not much history of the Vikings here as well. Still I did find that Roman coin the other day which is encouraging for me. Cheers Arry

After a rough rain and blowing night the suns out so thought I would have a go at the little paddock again. Probably an old orchard with the apple trees long gone. Bloody cold wild mind. Well hit on an old purse find over about six square foot most of these coins from it and the little cat neckless. The old Cap gun and the older coin at the bottom from a different part of the paddock. Still I'm happy 2 three pence pieces one silver, 4 sixpences 2 silver, 7 halfpennies, 8 pennies oldest 1901, 2 two shilling pieces, 2 half crowns. Cheers Arry

Think there maybe more to come on this. The true wild camper will still camp there and the owners will go back to the Courts and try and get a ban on access altogether. The thin edge of the wedge as with field sports chip away at the common man. Cheers Arry

They call him a farmer but think he runs or ran a hedge fund business. Typical of people make their money in the city then buy up the country side and try to exclude every body. Cheers Arry

Seen that Joe but it has got out of hand with big family tents and big groups trashing the place and groups of camper vans in car parks. Think if it was just solo people in one man tents this would not have happened. Mind it is people with money buying up great sways of the moor then trying to keep it all to themselves. Going to have a job policing it. Cheers Arry
