fenn traps only half catching
IanB replied to trenchfoot's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
This is the point I'm trying to get across, some armchair hunter/trapper who goes out twice a week and sticks 10 fenn traps out max and is in cahoots with some organisational powers suddenly decides they are not humane after all these years and pushes to ban them, with there added influences... Then voila everyone has to take a course, wear a special badge or use a different trap... as I say, there are serpent's amongst us, and it does worry me. -
Has this interfered with the smilies though Ian.....gone weird here... http://www.thehuntin.../page__st__1845 . Looks ok to me moll, or I might of missed something..

fenn traps only half catching

Calm down, calm down, our Kid... Nothing is cast in stone,... Simply a gut feeling, from a few remarks made by one or two lads, who are in regular conversation with official folk... Facts are,..kill trapping in the UK is definitely set to change,.... I just have a gut feeling myself Phil that, certain people involved in that scene will try to push it through. If the Fenn was removed from the approved list, its another nail in the coffin and one less tool to use. Personally I think people have got nothing better to do and too much time on their hands..lets see what we can ban -
Its from pure experience kittlerox, lads argue amongst themselves over dogs, a lot think theres is the best, OR they are the best..Me I just can't be arsed with it, like I say it sours things, I just want to go out and enjoy the experience without all the bullshit. You've taken it the wrong way, I previously and all my mates are dog lads, I'm in no way anti lurcher...But from experience I know they attract idiots like a magnet. Not all but they do, anyone half sensible can see that..

Oh its repetitive, he's definitely got some form of issue or inferiority complex.. seems you have an issue, " one reason I,m glad I don,t have dogs anymore because of people like him " a bit condescending is it not ? Not really, I'm sick of bell ends, idiots ranting on about how good this is how good that is, 10/10... Who cares, get a grip, get out enjoy your dog, work your dog.. But don't turn into a prick with it, ranting bullshit to everyone and filling peoples heads with fairytales out of your own warped mind.. Were talking about an adult, that will not shut up, its the same

Oh its repetitive, he's definitely got some issue's or an inferiority complex.. Look whin, you, your boat, your dogs are legendary crafted by the gods, well your probably Orion's secret brother.. but do us a massive favour. Shut the f**k up ! It's gone past the point of boring, to the overly irritating stage..

fenn traps only half catching
IanB replied to trenchfoot's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
I am quite aware of what is coming CW - I think that there will be a lot of disappointed 'trappers' when that day comes ... OTC And if changes are a foot, I hope its not anyone involved in hunting pushing them to the necessary people, discrediting Fenn traps in order to push and sell other traps. If that is the case, its a selfish and traitorous path.. On another note, tunnels... illegal without, well yes, and yes they do catch better in tunnels and holes, but I've seen others catch hundreds of rats with fenns in grain stores without tunnels, I'm not condoning it, but, well the -
Harkila should stick to selling outlandishly priced clothing, instead of boots.

Just seen this Deer caught in Snare
IanB replied to blacky7's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
The public are blind, they just see the use of snares as inflicting cruelty. The media love it, it sells and makes them business.. Any idiot or kid could of set that and left it or forgot... Its the genuine users of snares who use them legally that will suffer... Although, anyone could fake the setup easily, especially someone anti snaring, as they do.. -
I'll tell you what Whin/Blackwater is......... repetitive, self obsessed, blinkered the list is endless.. One good reason I'm glad I don't have dogs any more is because of people like him. Why do people always have to be better, always right, there way or no way...this dog catches this, that, blah!!!!! Who gives a shit. its boring, get out and enjoy your dogs, the countryside and whatever you do, don't get blinkered and live in your own little bubble like a whin, its a sad existence

The show you posted ideation, I watched awhile back, my opinion what a load of shite...all he does is cry, and cry and cry..hes got a shotgun, is living in a wildlife oasis, can't catch food barely and cannot catch fish, I could catch more food in my local beck and hedge than that soft twat... As milegajo said, I'd watch the original movie, that was made called alone in the wild, and avoid the annoying whiner in this one mentioned..

So I dyed and waxed some traps
IanB replied to JohnGalway's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
Commitment John , With Fenns I wouldn't be too concerned about what colour they are, but you can protect them with a tin of spray paint easy enough, if you want to try and prevent any rust.. If your using them for rabbits there under the ground, or if for rats, squirrels, stoats, etc there in a tunnel, so imo its pointless colouring them. -
Amen.. I don't look on it because I don't want to buy a dog, quite simple really... If I bred a litter of dogs, or a friend did... working dogs we are talking, and I wanted to sell them, fair enough, I'd want to sell them to others intrested in hunting, or people new to hunting, if no one sold a terrier or lurcher and it was the old shaking of hands club, where would that leave the interest in working terriers/lurchers/gundogs for people in the sport and new to it..??? Who aren't in some daft pat on back club.?? If I had a chip on my soldier and thought my dogs should only be given

I didn't want to go for the 10mm pex as I've read its just the same ID as 8mm microbore so there wasn't much point, although I know its easier to bend than the 15mm pex stuff.. I'll get stuck in when I have more time..I need to get a combi as well as the place has an old system..
-
I was going to go for 22mm feeds then 15mm to rads using manifolds.. I looked at these but supposedly the 10mm plastic speedfit is just the same ID as 8mm microbore, so defeats the purpose. http://www.screwfix....mm-x-10mm/73609 So then I looked at these going to 15mm manifold which looks better http://www.ebay.co.u...=item27ae27d627 My only reservation being, I'm going to need to use loads of 15mm right angle fittings as I don't think the pipes will bend sharp enough...What are these plastic fittings like for leaks?? Should I just stick with my 15mm supply and 8mm micr
-
Some of the radiators have these dual fittings for the microbore supply and return on one end http://www.yorkshire...0a-f828287640f0 Also the main upstairs manifold is 15mm, I think it really should be 22mm in an deal world. Theres 4 radiators upstairs, but I could possibly add another two. The four radiators are fed off the 15mm pipe with a 22mm expander fitting to one of these style manifolds.. http://www.toolstati...ebbig/12184.jpg It would be easier to extend the 8mm microbore returns so I have individual supply return fitting on radiators, but my doubts were, what if I add
-
Need some advice guys from any plumbers on here... I'm unsure whether to change my central heating pipes.. Currently I have a 15mm copper supply and return manifold upstairs feeding 8mm copper microbore to each radiator.. Should I go the full hog and change it to 22mm supplies using plastic and 15mm plastic feeds to the radiators??

I've picked shotgun shot out of rabbits, pheasants, pigeons and deer when skinning them, picked rimfire slugs out of deer too, surprising what you find...

There's more that breed to make money than to produce a good working dog...Sad fact..

The canon 70-300 IS lens is pretty good to be honest, a big improvement over kit lenses.
