  1. 9.9 times out of 10, its a duffus for me
  2. My experience with HMR's, if your shooting any quantity of rounds, they just open up, unless cleaned very regular.
  3. You should be able to add items for now, I've removed the requirement for a prefix until its sorted...
  4. Yes on with it, done some work last night, be sorted asap.
  5. I have a lot of footage Tomo, and I had a lot of footage from pegandgun but the hard drive died with it all on, we were going to make a video from it. You are right, a rabbit on the run, does not take much notice of its surroundings, when flighted back home, or when at speed.. Anyway I better get sorted, off out in half hour to do some lamping with a farmer, whilst its nice and dry...
  6. Griff, I've snared thousands and I've witnessed it, so has pegandgun, so my minds made up.. maybe not all the time, but it does happen.. Head over to any American trapping site and you will find many animals over there that can become snare shy, from beaver, coyote, etc.. some do see snares... it's off topic, as were talking about rabbits, but animals have a sixth sense sometimes, and I'm 100% sure they do see snares, some do not see them as a threat, like a piece of foilage, grass or whatever, but some do shy from them.
  7. Because its an alien object in its world and it can see it...there not all daft, same with any other animal. Be it mole, fox, whatever..
  8. There is no tealer, this is snaring on fencelines, like I said in my two previous posts... Whats to say bodygrips DONT get bypassed, snaring on a fence line with holes in rabbit netting is probably the easiest place to set a snare or bodygrip.. It is there only access point most of the time, so they cannot go around it, unlike pig netted fences, etc were they have other options..during the course of a day/night a lot goes on we do not witness, I will place money on it that some rabbits run up to your traps or snares and shy away during this period.. Maybe a minority, but it does happen.
  9. We all know you can catch with new snares, no ones saying you can't.. What's getting said is a weathered snare takes no effort and if it improves your success rate when snaring on fences WHY not do it... I've seen rabbits shy off snares, pegandgun has filmed them avoiding snares, trying to duck under them, etc This was in day light, if they can't see them, why would they do this, its nothing to do with scent before it gets mentioned.
  10. Are you planning snaring on fences or on open/trails..
  11. For a rifle that's accurate and does the job for the right price I'd personally get a Tikka T3 in synthetic or wood. Then put a Zeiss Duralyt scope on it. Good priced kit thats accurate and quality.
  12. We have hopefully just about got the last few rabbits left on the ground I have being using them on, but when it snowed a few weeks ago we could see the footprints going upto the snares on the fence and stopping at the snare and going back down the run and going through another gap in the fence, and this was with weathered snares. It just goes to show some rabbits have wised up to them. We have now had 49 rabbits off the border of the cematry since boxing day and the last 2 weeks is the first time the flowers on my grans grave have not been eaten within the first 48 hours, they haven't been t
  13. Doesn't really matter with peg snares Griff, when set correctly the rabbits should be travelling at speed on the run, so its pointless... Now fence snares, especially now and summer with the longer hours of daylight I would personally leave your snares out to weather, it costs nothing, takes no effort and dulls them down, when rabbits are moving slow through fences they can see a snare at times and avoid them..yes you can catch with shiny new snares, but if weathering them takes no effort and decreases your chances of a refusal, why NOT do it?
  14. Yes sorry mate, a 100w 12v bulb will pull 8.33 amp. Better option were did you buy from.
