  2. nice shooting, can i ask what trousers they are? and are they semi/full waterproof, cheers There some cheap jobs I got the other day, Seeland Brandon??? They were on offer at john norris for £35.99 instead of £79.99, so bought a couple of pair, there waterproof, seetex membrane, I've tried all sorts, so I'll let you know how they get on, not the best, no doubt but for £35 notes a good deal... I've tried the deerhunter rams, there warmer and heavier, also the harkila trousers, which are better, nothing beats proper goretex but then again its more ££££ , john norris still have the
  3. I've had this discussion before with someone, when snaring foxes on fencelines you don't need stupid length snares, pegandgun got me using short snares, less wire when making them up, and really hard for a fox to get tangled, keep them on a short lead Most of the best practice guidelines are wrote by pen pushers who have not got the slightest idea about snaring, fieldcraft or hunting in general, that or some high paid boffin, who studies it for 5 year and decides its cruel........ what a revelation, so's life..................
  4. Thank you ! That's just what the guy I've just been out with said . Apparently he looked em up -same weight bullet ,same velocity. Looks like the "Xtra" as you say is a rebadging exercise. As for tonights expedition .Well, I had 100% success rate which sounds great until I mention that, er , I only fired ...two shots for two rabbits . We only saw three ! thanks again Ian 100% Strike rate... Your name needs changing to hawkeye

  7. Snaring on fencelines is a deadly form of snaring, its a boundary and every animal be it rabbit or fox has to pass through it or under it, yes theres a high chance of entanglement, most rabbits/foxes are dead on removing them... If you look at the guidance on defra, etc they don't condone snaring were theres any form of entanglement possible... so basically they want a clear open run, free from anything a snare can get wrapped or hung up on, this isn't law just best practice...
  8. About £18 or £19 a box, the 80grains are fine, never used the 100's yet apart from on bovine...
