You are clearly not understanding the basic difference between genetics in terms of raw material at a cellular level how traits are passed through genes within the science of heredity.....and genetic influence regards how that material shapes who we are and how it contributes to variations in particular observable traits, how its measured through statistical analysis of trait variations etc. The dog analogy obviously went straight over your head being a clear example of inherent behavioural traits and the extent to which a trait is influenced by genetic behaviour outside molecular or cell
