I finish on 19th and will not be going back. After 51 years working that will be my last day 👍🏻

I’ll be beating three days a week during the season and helping out in between with pest control, stalking throughout the year and out at night shooting, I hunt, I’ll be doing bird surveys in spring,

23rd then back for two days before new year can't wait as its the worst time of year in a parcel delivery warehouse and shit management don't help. Thank feck it will be my last Christmas at the compa

I’m not sure because I’m not well travelled but I suspect Britain is the only country in the world where getting pissed and smashing the granny out of each other for fun is a thing ?

No Wilf,I have never frequented bars nor drank as I saw enough alcohol related violence as a kid to convince me I didn’t need that in my life, but I have seen drunks in other countries having kick offs,it’s a drunks being drunks thing and not confined to Blighty.

I’m a bit gutted now, I was all excited to think having a gallon of Stella and kicking absolute f**k out of each other in the street was something unique to us……can’t have anything that’s ours now, country’s gone to the dogs ! lol

It's the 19th for me as my Son and his Canadian girlfriend are home from Vacouver until the 28th. Really looking forward to spending some quality time with them and my Grandkids as they haven't seen their Uncle for nearly 3 years so are wetting themselves with excitement. He was brought up with lurchers so is looking forward to introducing himself to my new pup and his Girlfriend can't wait to experience a Welsh Christmas - God help her lol.

It'll be a brilliant christmas with lots of walks in the mountain, more than a few gym sessions, the odd pint or 12 and infinite love and memories.

Should be an amazing 10 days or so.......

No,the best one I can think of is the Peruvian takanakuy on Christmas day,get tanked up on booze and coca leaves, then the men and women from certain villages batter each other in a sort of civilised way on mutual ground with referees, theres a reason the refs have whips, the fights often spill into the streets, theres been a few deaths, brits are super civilised to some people.

The going home with a black eye thing is becoming something of a lost tradition LOL. It did tend be spats between lads who knew each other anyway. Worked together all year and little disagreements simmered into grudges, a few gallon of drink and then handbags. More comical than violent. Usually shaking hands afterwards and mates again when back to work in January.

An important day in contracting though before social media and mobile phones. Everyone knew where to go every year in order to meet up and have a pint with lads who had moved on to other companies or retired. M&E was the Labour club Newcastle city centre.

The younger generation wouldn't want to risk getting blood or beer on their expensive clobber and are encouraged to express their feelings in the work place throughout the year 🙂
