Friend had a pure greyhound bitch was game hard bitch he run it like a lurcher only downfall was it took a hard time off stuff and had a snipey muzzle but don't think it got any more knocks or bangs than a lurcher another one another friend had was just useless even at rabbits would chase and all just couldn't catch much at all and broke its back leg one night just jogging down a field  defiantly better with a lurcher tho better feet more robust better stamina if I'm looking for a lurcher I'd try to go to lurcher x lurcher bred pups how many pure greyhounds really get tested or the bull or collies  etc they breed out of to me your better breeding lurcher to lurcher out of well bred dogs doing the job you want at least your rearing a pup out of workers and if they were bred right the first time someone's done the hard work of making it happen

i disagree with most of im honest ive had half greys i’d say was very fast quick at them but ive had nearly pure salukis faster 

whippet or grey won’t add no speed for me ever on the field that isn’t what i’d use one for the mouth bit a nasty ness and that wanting them dead is a much better attribute that they have

Not any faster over a couple of hundred yards.  But they do bring the gear box
