we've been trying to fight for our country for some years but not in the way the people at the top want, now they want the people at the bottom to fight to protect what the people at the top have😠

Why would Russia invade us? Because our elites keep telling you they might?  The same elites that told all those young men that they were giving up their lives for 'freedom and democracy'? O

Quite easy, not a dinghies chance in a storm, the enemy is within, the left, weirdos, royals, just about everything wrong with society today, nahhh ill leave it to the anarchists, protestors and the r

Of course everyone can’t a achieve the same, you ain’t going to win the Olympic 100m if you have one leg…..but you can find quality and value and achieve things your background may not have set you up for in something…..nobody it putting a barrier in your way to do that, fact.

That's the truth mate both me and the wife came from similar backgrounds her father was a steel worker same as mine both of us are as thick as two short planks academically even though I have had a colourful past regarding some of my poaching exploits and have a criminal record the wife has worked in the care sector for over 30 years and both my daughters are hard working individuals and have never been in trouble with the police or been addicted to drugs and drink that to me means more than making a shed load of money as I can sit back and think both of us have not failed as parents.

You sunlun or Durham eastcoast?

Gateshead born and still live in a Gateshead postcode despite having many opportunities to move away.  A bit pathetic really. I could be living in a Baroque palace in a beautiful part of the Czech Republic if I wanted. In hindsight my decision to decline was probably wise. The person who wanted me to go live there is a Hare Krishna devotee now. She wasn't at the time. Her family own it. Me digging the local wildlife probably may be an issue now.

An image has just popped into my head. Me leading a pair of terriers on couples into the woods accompanied by an entourage of devotees twirling in their robes, chanting and playing bell cymbals whilst carrying spades and bars.

“Laughing stock of the world” ?

Not in my experience.

I’ve travelled a fair bit; lived with , worked with and spent considerable time with many diverse nationalities, and their view of the British ranged from open admiration to grudging respect.
Even in the Middle East, where they, probably have more reason to hate us than most, I found it was only the extremists that hated us, and not so much Britain, but the west in general.

Being British still has kudos and opens doors in most of the world.

The people I’ve met who actually hate Britain are usually British themselves and mostly on the far left of the political spectrum who have this completely insane idea that places like Venezuela, Russia, North Korea are workers Shangrila’s !

I think during the war they were known as 5th columnist’s.

Cheers.

I thought the above post highly insulting. I know you have been all over the world, you have the photos to show on here. Very interesting they are too. Especially the ones which show working dogs and hawks. Pictures of yourself alone I find less interesting.

I think a little of the Englander abroad has crept into your thinking. I think you consider a bit above your hosts in foreign countries. For example when you exclaimed that " we are not niggers, we don't drink from puddles."

You describe yourself as a mechanic. Politics is hardly likely be a feature of conversation with the people you meet. Not that I'm suggesting mechanics or foreigners are stupid, just not interested in british politics. However if you google 'Truss laughable' or 'Johnson illegally suspending parliament outrageous or laughing stock of Europe' Or 'Johnson lies to parliament' That kind of search, you will discover American and European incredulity and hilarity at the omnishambles the British parliament has become. If you can't find anything come back to me and I'll post some.

You insulate that I hate Britain, that I am a traitor? That people with my take on politics are fifth columnist's (sic).

That's hurtful, I've paid  Uk taxes for exactly 60 years. Never claimed dole or sick pay. I also do a lot of community work which I hope is a contribution to British society. I've sired two kids who both went to top unis, one with a first class honours degree and the class prize to boot. More importantly they have never been in trouble with the police were  and are good citizens.

By the way, you yourself , in this very thread, stated that you had no confidence in the british ruling class. Im glad we agree.

You infer that I am in sympathy with Russia. What balls. Ive repeatedly stated I am not a marxist ffs and have  described Putin as a fascist on here. The truth is that the right now have close links to Russia. Think Trump and the  Lebedevs. Think money laundering linked to the right and Russia. Google Russia and kleptocracy. Think Aaron Banks and his many meeting with Russian officials just before brexit. Examine the links between Trump and Russia.

I have never stated I have any admiration for or Venezula or North Korea. Thats spurious shite.

Smirk if you want, but I found your post way out of order.

There’s pros and cons to everything in life my old son I think the unelected leaders of the uk letting the shores of the uk getting breached by  invaders right in front of our very eyes are delivering a death by a thousand cuts. If it gets any worse you’ll be  conducting a rescue relief mission on these very shores

why hasn’t the military stepped in and protecting our borders ?

I never said universities are a closed door to state schiol kids. You are misquoting me again. I said Oxbridge discriminated against state pupils. They used to be bastions of public school privilege. Where only a tiny proportion of state school pupils were accepted.

I think now it's 50/50, Which imo is still too high given that ony 7% of the population attend public schools.

I get it , I really do.

I believe the current vogue term is “soft invasion” to describe the influx of what we’re once referred to as fighting age males from the eastern aspects of this world . I get it , the fears of cultural shift, the apologists , the hierarchy with a disconnect from the average working class man in the street . All to be brought into the light of day and shown for what they are . Bravo to that .

You’re a very intelligent man , surely your also seeing the folly of the “are we the baddies ?” Rising campaign across the SM platforms ?

Putin isn’t a good man , he isn’t a leader that we would know or recognise. He’s as alien to our culture and beliefs as you can get .

his army isn’t some force of Menshavik resurgents , they are the flotsam and jetsam of Russian society . Watch the documentaries on vice tv , where a reporter tracks the involvement of a Russian soldier into Belarus / Chechnya . Iook at the soldier , that’s who the army consists of . Poorly equipped , ill disciplined citizen soldiers . That’s what’s massing at the door to Europe . Can you imagine a few hundred thousand of him flowing into the right hand side of our continent ?

We need to keep that bear from the door , it’s not here to steal our porridge . It’s there to destroy the whole f***ing house .

Apologies if you’re attempting to think it’s an intentional mis interpretation . Thats not my effort  , more a broad brush gleaning of your stance and opinion.

looking through my optics , it seems that your main drive is against the class driven system for university places at more reknowned places of education .

Would you not say that with looking at those stats , that the lived experience of university applicants would play more of a role , than just pure marks ?

as in what’s the potential at reach for a graduate at Cambridge, what will they do after their degree ? Ho would them having Oxford on their resume benefit the university post education ?

the reliance of stats and figures removes imho the most important aspect , the human factor of the subject recorded
