Good analogy that , I too strongly believe that dogs need a purpose or they can end up with mental problems. 

Most working lurcher types I've known that are absolute demons in the fields doing their thing.

But when away from that environment are the most content softest butter wont melt types you could be around.

Perhaps artificial lure racing for these xl bully types might keep them happy and content, perhaps using a scarecrow on a trolley or something like that.

Spectators would need to be dressed in Sunday best so bully stayed fixed on scarecrow .
