The care home took control, through the government, of my mums pension and bank account. She had about £10 k in the bank, they had control of the lot. If there's anything left over, it will have to go through probate, and my sister, who's taking care of things, has been told it will cost at least £1500 solicitor fees.. My mum was a cantankerous old woman, and a lot of this could have been avoided if she had signed everything over to my sister before they declared her mentally unfit to make those decisions. Cheers. 3

Me and the missus have recently had legal advise about this and other things, as we would like to leave everything to our grandson. P.O.A. Over health care just means if a doctor, working for the government decides I need to go into a home, my wife can refuse, and keep me at home, otherwise they could put me in a home against her objections, It also give the POA control of bank accounts. To have full control, over everything there needs to be a trust set up, they quoted me £7,000 to do this. We had two wills made and a seperate trust fund for our grandson, this cost £250, far cheaper, and it guarantees he will get something, if not all when we die. The executors get a set fee of 1.9 % of our entire estate, so it's in their interest to keep as much of our assets out of the governments hands ! A shame we have to go through this, especially in your latter years.....I didn't give it a second thought when I was young and earning Cheers. I have the odd moan about the old women wanting to go on holiday twice a year and not in the cheapest of hotels although some times i think i am still living through the 84/85 miners strike and tend to still have the frugality in my mindset. The wife works 12 hour shifts in a residential care home caring for people with dementia so she is adamant that we go away on holiday's wile ever we both work and are in decent health.

WILF 49,569
All wise words lads, and here’s the thing, it should be easy to do all the things you say……but personally I don’t think we live in that world. Imho, the whole system is set up to put people in debt, the world runs on debt…..they don’t want people having their own money, at all…..it’s the council estate money lender but with a suit on and sanctioned by the state. Its just plain f***ing wrong. Its the reason “the markets” just destroyed a whole British government and put their own man in as chancellor. Really excited to see how The Brothers Of Italy pan out in the coming battle because make no mistake, the people that run the world won’t like a government who likes their own people best one little bit.

I think that hits the nail on the head. Think the only difference we would have is I would vote conservative if there was only the usual 3 candidates on the paper. Reason being is your then actually voting for things like immigration control even if the conservatives screw us on it. My biggest fear is a labour government is the 'country' is then agreeing with their quite open opinions of actually increasing immigration and borrowing more. That said I'm probably one of the few who would and has , gone anywhere in the north supporting any alternative nationalist party that looks like it stands any chance of increasing its vote share 3
Qbgrey 4,255
I don’t follow politics and when someone at a pub or gathering tries to engage in it I just can’t be bothered. They harp on about it non stop means nothing to me and they look at me like I’m a simpleton. ( true enough) they go on like they are financial experts.then you get asked what job you do.?Brickwork I say. And you can see the look in thier eyes :oh yes that makes sense a fuking retard:! Then, where do you live??? And all the other questions. Turns out most times the c**ts live in a terrace house and got most of thier possession on tick and they are giving Barry large bolloxs . Cracks me up 3
paulus 26
During the last 2 lockdowns our government borrowed half a trillion pounds, Now that will need paying back, imagine the amount of money to be made by putting the interest rate up to 5 or 6% on that debt for the people who borrowed that money. They all want Immigration, Its the only way they can think of to grow the economy, given the indigenous population is decreasing in numbers, They need this immigration to fill the houses they want to build, Why do you think that all the talk about relaxing planning is now being mentioned. All very short sighted if you ask me. There is a point when this pyramid model becomes top heavy and the whole rotten lot comes crashing down, Yes they want us all to be slaves to the system so as to control our daily lives. If you think you are a free man living in a free country i am sorry to break it to you, but your not and they will never want you to be. As i have said for years, You might think that Government's run their own countries but it has always been as directed by the Few with the money in this world. If what has happened in recent weeks with our politics does not prove this then i don't know what will.

He wants nice things bought on credit. He wants supermarket shelves that never run empty.... can you imagine society trying to eat seasonal food or cook from scratch! We live in a society where hair dryers have warnings on saying 'do not use in shower'! Freedom would come with personal responsibility..... and nobody could deal with that! 3
