I don’t get what people achieve by attempting to muddy the waters like this 

it’d hardly damming evidence is it ? 

what makes people pore and sweat and obsess over trying to find an obtuse angle to seek resonance behind such awful events ?

Something fishy going on here

Uvalde LEO did active-shooter training days including on site training only two months ago, reports showed speed is of the essence, and even if there's only a single officer they should engage the shooter, 19 officers crouched in a corridor waiting for back-up is a monumental cluster f**k.

So it seems they had training, they had long guns, they had numbers and they clearly used plenty of time…

I find it hard to believe the problem was cowardice. It only takes one lad to  seize the moment and lead. I wonder if it was a command problem? They may have had the tactical training but was there command problems creating hesitancy and no one on the ground with the confidence born of experience to take leadership?

It's real easy for those of us without experience to judge and say what the obvious course of action is, even when it is doctrine. But it’s weird fact that authority can kill common sense reactions and initiative in those who are not in command.

Carpe momentum, but no one did, kids were inside the classrooms phoning emergency services, the cops were inside the school well armed, border agents rocked up, disregarded local police advice, went in and shot the nutter. 

In other news police in Toronto shot dead a geezer near a school on Thursday armed with a BB gun.

Yeah, clearly the selection and training of the border patrol tac team is appropriate compared to that of the local LEOs. That’s not surprising obviously. They are specialists.

I just know that organisations with rigid hierarchical structures can experience hesitancy when lower ranks need to operate outside of their experience. You can explicitly tell them to break the rules they’re used to but there’s still often hesitancy.

Specialists are often selected and trained to encourage independence and initiative. It’s a totally different level but look how ‘obi-wan Nairobi’ went…

I dunno, I’m just speculating. Emotional accusations of cowardice are understandable but are they accurate.

I am watching a news report at the moment, LEO are coming across more like chief wiggum than judge dredd, but they did drills in the school recently, they were taught speed is of the essence,failed miserably on all counts, we can all draw our own conclusions.
