Silenced shotguns are great. I was sat shooting at first light yesterday , and nobody even knows you're there . Ive got a hushpower baikal .410 , and a fully silence mossberg pump .410. I've had several silenced 12g guns , but I just couldn't get on with them. They're like waving a length of drainpipe around. I think my next gun will probably be a silenced mossberg pump in 20g.

Your right Mel the 12g is like a drainpipe mine didn’t last long I got rid, I’ve only got 2 shotguns currently a No4 AYA side by side 12g and a .410 poachers fold up shotgun which is very old but still packs a punch, I’m into my rifle too much to get involved with shotguns I will start up again in September. I had a lot of stuff with my silenced 410 when I had it, I had the pedretti version though. The baikal seemed like a baseball bat when I picked it up.

I'm hoping that a 20 will be a bit better than a .410 , but not as cumbersome as a 12. I had a norica 3 shot bolt action .410 , with a bolt on mod . It was fantastic, but I just couldn't get on with the loading of the internal mag . If you don't load it correctly, it doesn't cycle correctly .

Great guns for starting a youngster. Some disagree using the logic that kills are more difficult to achieve than with a larger bore but once proficient with a .410 using a 12 bore is a piece of piss. I know a chap who got into shooting late in life and has money to burn. Bought a megga expensive shotgun and paid for lessons. He's the worst shot that I've ever seen, even feel sorry for him at times. Often think that if he had been taught to shoot using a .410 on ferreted rabbits he would not be as bad as he is. Edited 39 minutes ago by eastcoast Edited to say no weight to them, very little recoil or noise. Hence a good choice for kids.
