Can’t see it happening in the rural places mate, they burned out the last gaff they set up for them but the Cities are feeling it.

Well kept little hamlets of houses, verges all cut by the residents......then, a town of derelict shops, a lovely old mini department store next to a wreck that hasn’t had a key in the door for 10 years.

Wonderful grand architecture from an age gone by, whole towns of the stuff, boarded up and empty......outside, in the parking spaces a new Range Rover or Q7 or a landcruiser pulling 12 grands worth of shiny Ifor Williams !

There will be a village with one garage shop and the best children’s playground you have ever seen in your life that would accommodate a town of thousands in the U.K. and which we just don’t have the like of in scale and in how it is kept spotlessly clean....like the day is was built ! .......and all this totally in the middle of nowhere ! 
 

Theres lots of the towns that are wrecked, empty shops wherever you look, while industrial estates stood empty, giant hotels all empty........and yet there is a sense that everyone is doing OK.
 

Socially, I can only say that from what I have seen think England after the war but with modern things......it’s blinding

People are nice to each other, just normal really.....a normality sadly lacking in British towns and cities.

I drove down to Wicklow last Saturday and it was amazing as you drive down, fine farmland, old English estate houses and all the old buildings of the town to match, old rail stations from the time of the empire complete with clock tower and fancy copper domes.....like a snapshot of days gone by.

I said to my daughter, if this was England all this would be housing estates !! 
The Irish want no part of Britain and I can see why, but I think an element of practicality should be exhibited and put aside the “Just hating on the English” stuff. 

I get it you think the grass is greener mate...but are you sure the shade isnt just slightly more " mint " than the deep " emerald " you are painting it .....Wicklow is about 30 odd miles from Dublin right ? ( i only know because its a part of the world i looked at years ago )......well the farmland/English estate houses/old town buildings you describe can be found in towns 30 miles outside of London as well,whats the difference ?

Dublin is a shithole as is London, the additions you are getting there are the same as the additions we are getting here.....are you aware that population wise Ireland is growing at almost twice the rate England is ?.....since the war Englands population has increased by around 26%.....Irelands has increased by around 46%.

Im over the moon for you that you like it there but lets not pretend its some kind of hidden away paradise that allows you to sidestep the problems here because figures show its likely to deteriorate even more quickly there than it is here.

Its certainly not paradise, it pisses down to much for a start for it to be paradise, the city’s are shitholes in exactly the same way our city’s are shitholes mate....nothing new in the world there.

I only have an honest description from my point of view.

Theres a plan by the government here to ship in a load more oddmarks, we will see how that plays out.

If the Irish do nothing the spades will eat them alive mate.

I know there’s nice places in England mate, I’ve been to most of them but the difference is, your average bloke can’t afford to live most places worth living in England.......now you may argue that point with me but I believe it to be true.

My gaff here if it was in Devon or Cornwall or the lakes is a million quid !.......and it’s modest, very modest. 
 

I lived just outside Sandwhich in Kent when I was a kid, place called Shatterling, as you know Sandwhich is a beautiful 16th century cinque port village, one of the most quintessential picture postcard English villages anywhere.....there’s a preservation order on the village, It’s stunning and a place I personally adore.

The Kentish stour runs through there and it’s not that wide, the old toll bridge is the road out towards Ramsgate and Broadstairs.....you could spit across that river, they built a dirty great f***ing housing estate slap bang across the river from the village on the unprotected side !

 When you  look at that clip from Dublin, you can see  what thre  near  future in eire is going to be like. They are going to take in a million more people by 2040. A large number of  them will be from  Africa and any  one objection to this is called  white supremacist and far right.  No wonder the loyalists don't want a united ireland. Lads, lads, with all due respect what you are lacking here is context.....when you see a video of a load of savages in Dublin or Limerick or Cork you have to think about it in the wider context to the country.

We have a horrible habit in the U.K. of thinking everyone is in as shit a state as us, I used to be just as guilty of doing that myself, but the fact is......it’s just not true.

Thats not to say it could get that way, is heading that way or any of that but it’s not true now.

The reality on the ground here is about as similar to England as I am to an Olympic athlete !

And if you spent time here out of the cities, which after all, are only 3 specks compared to the whole country, you’d see why there’s no reason to believe it would be happening any time soon either ! 
 

No majority black cities here, no Birmingham’s or London’s, nothing like that.

Irelands white, Ireland is old fashioned in a good way, Ireland is Polite, Ireland has a culture, Ireland has a patron saints days that’s a national holiday and everyone celebrates its, it has a language, it has traditions that’s it’s pretty fond of.........that won’t be as easy to break down as a place that isn’t as well equipped with those things imho

They’ll never admit it, but certainly nowadays, the two sides have many more similarities than differences. But memories are long, and hurt is slow to heal. I was born a few months after Bloody Sunday, nearly 50 years ago. If I live another 50 I doubt I’ll see a lasting peace between the two communities. Fcuk knows what the answer is..., but pineapple and cheese on a stick would be a start

What I don’t need to tell you mate is that lads like us are old hat now, we are in a minority.....an extremely bloody small minority.

When I was around schools as a governor the amount of people who used to say to me “you can’t say that” or would whisper their concerns about demographic change and it’s all too evident effects on the atmosphere and social climate of one little school to me but be too afraid to say it out loud.

Nobody does it mate, nobody cares.....well as you know a few care but we are voices in the wilderness pal.

This shocker we see being played out is just accepted as normality.....I don’t get it and I’m sure you don’t either but millions and millions do, or don’t care, either way.

Your pal got elected, fair play, but all the forces will line up against him and even people who voted for him won’t have the bollocks to say they did.

I used to quiet enjoy a ruck against the odds when I was a kid but Im realistic enough to know that by and large, my people are f****d.
