Rabbit Pie ! And, for the purists, made with shortcrust pastry, NOT puff pastry ! ? ! Cheers.

Treat off my dad tonight, he's a friend on the fresh fish stall up town... Scallops and lemon sole fillets...

Family get together at ours, so a bit of a spread.. 13 hour cooked brisket, slow cooked pork shoulder.. Home made coleslaw, stuffing, roasties... and a 2 day hangover! Lol

This is why is call cheat. Just put Chicken, Leek, Onion, Mushroom and a few Frozen Peas in a dish water the soup down a little. Pore in on top put pastry lid on top plus egg wash and cook, so easy.

Its a fact nans can cook. My nans stews and suet pudding or an egg pie of some sort with stew on top was amazing. I am so gutted I don't have the recipes. She lived for cooking and no one came through the door with out being fed if they liked it or not lol.

Arry 2 questions please mate: is the chicken put in uncooked? and how long does that chicken pie need to be in the oven for?

Many thanks. Aled

The Chicken was cooked in that one left over from a roast on Sunday mate.

But you could use Chicken thighs debone them cut up and fry them off or breast of course.

I also fried the diced Onions off for a few minute but you don't have to.

Oven cook at 200c for 40 to 45 minutes if you have a temperature probe the centre of the Pie should be 160f  or 71c. Turn the heat down a bit if the pastry starts getting to brown.

It's very easy and taste real nice mate.

Hope thats some help mate.

Cheers Arry
