From what I've read on the breed, there not really guard dogs, they dont bark. Much for a start, vary alot in temp and size, some 200lb, others  70-85lb. Alot of big breeds don't bark much, OK they might look the part, but in the dark don't mean nout, and they only got to shoot them, no I still say you need a vocal dog to warn you. a mongrel from the pound, or like. Jigsaw says saluki types make not bad watch dogs, get somthing like that, stick Jack next to it, they wake the feckin dead up lol, bloke where I live got sharp little watch dog it's a patx border that prat would soon have your ankles lol

I've read their a natural guard dog with thm being a mastiff type dog.

You would do well to get one of those of decent quality, I know there has been some decent ones in Eastern Europe.

Just as an aside seen a doberman x greyhound other day never seen 1 before dark brindle 28 inch is bitch only 12 month old strong as a ox very racy image what the dogs out the litter be like deffo contender for the 15 pointer

Yep the lightweight and middleweight Tosa are cracking dogs. You can see they're heavily APBT infused unlike the giant mastiff type.

herself reminded me of an incident when i had the pit and the shepherd out swimming in the river,i always believed if you give a dog enough exercise he wont be so wound up,well we had the 2 out for an hour and on the way back we made the pit jump a few bales of silage,and he ran up them stacked 3 high,the shepherd running below watching him..the pit jumped down hit the ground and the shepherd was on him ,tried to take a neck hold..missed the spot,the pit turned and latched on to his nose and inside of his pallet,i roared ..obviously no joy,..the pit shook fuk out of the shepherd who was now screaming in temper and pain combined,the mrs .was ready to black out..i decided to clip the shepherd on and tied him to a gate..after a few minutes i broke the pit off and she held him on his lead..the shepherd was lunging to get back and i thought ..''if this lead breaks im totally f****d''...i couldnt calm the cnut down ,so i came up with a plan...picked up a hefty stick and gave him one slap on the back of his neck,and then he paid attention to me..we got them back to the car but the big yoke was intent on revenge ,so we carried the pit back in the front sat and the shepherd in the back,and for 4 years i never took the prick out with dogs again,,always alone.but that night i was thinking he might turn on me when worked up.....i was never dozing with the bastrd always watching his expressions and actions...which is not a good way to have  a relaxing walk lol

any pics or links to them mate, seen the big brutes  200 lb ones , but not these types your on about, they would be handful as you say , there bred to take bit of pain, and got  not bad drive in them for big dogs, so  as you say the lighter ones  make better al round type animal  if they guard .?

I got a mate like This  mad about having a pp dog Guard dogs lol Showing me these vids ddr all them the best a them Doberman’s that drop low go mental you try kicking one a them your dragged to the floor got to go down to it that’s a bad idea lol be easier to leave it

Seen a few imported so called working line dobermans and all but one have been a load of shit.All abit hyperactive bouncing around gobbling off but none were really focused or solid in their work.Funnily enough though my pal prefered his Doberman over anything when he was doing door work as just the fact that it looked the part and made a load of noise was enough to disperse a rowdy crowd even though if the shit hit the fan he had 2 or 3 dogs that youd much rather have on the end of the lead.
