See some posts mentioning the larger breeds, trust me even a 25kg Mali bitch with high drive and a deep full push bite wold be enough to stop most men.

well , regards Boerbols  that gaz- lurcher lad on about as breed , if it had been full on bite, like you say regards  25kg bel mal above , he  lucky to get just few stitches  . a bloke who lives by me got a 55kg boerbol bitch ,  3  1/2 yer old bitch thats barks, and i reckon would bite you , when it  loose on his property , and see anybody coming, she real frighting sight, dont forget bitches are smaller than the males. i think you have to shoot  it  to stop it guarding, and from what he told me most are the same from well bred kennels, thee very intense breed as guard dog , far more than any bull mastiff or rottie  . suppose if you lived like Aussie - whip or sombody similar  miles from anybody, well they be spot on, but in your norm size in built up area , there just to feckin big for family/ kids , i surprised  they haven't  killed anybody or kids yet , as there getting more popular as breed . and your right above a bite of a 60-70lb full on bel mal would stop a bloke , forget all this sleeve  crap that on youtube you see with  differnt breeds hitting a sleeve . taking full bite on your hand / arm, or your ankle , is very very painful, my brother got bite on his hand of a dalmatian  we had years ago, up hospital few stitches , his hand was black/ purple , he told  after the pain was feckin murder, like having your hand slammed  between  a door , and that from just 60lb dog. ive always said  well bred gsd from working lines , a 80lb male  stop any man big or  small, but as above  a gun will stop any dog, what ever the breed  , a gsd and jack terrier  a good combo  ,  great hearing (bark) , and both will bite you  . deff

Feck feeding another dog , just put up a couple of Isis flags .. got the police watching my house 24/7 now ?

I married a Northern lass good with kids bit agressive around house & can cook. No one visits anymore. Atb

If you want a yard dog and something to guard your kennels i personally dont think you can beat a well bred bandog type.Naturally territorial, generally not dog aggressive if properly socialised, physic

Barking is a watch dog a chihuahua can be a good watch dog, you right in a seance barking can be nerve depends in the manor in what way a dog does it, I can switch a dog onto "watch" command and he will bark his head off (absloutly no nerve) until I give the comand to bite I never train them in that command I'll tell them either "go" or "now"

Tbh id rather have a dog with touch of nerve for pp than sommat thats just a prey monster. Im talking about when a dog barks at strangers with no training that type of thing.

A bloke I recall had a Jack Russell cocker x and burglars actually put the dog in a chest freezer. Straight up that as well.

Anyone had much experience with English bull terriers as they seem to be popular in South Africa

prob cocker softened  jack , but doesnt surprise  mate, i think it was few years  back    think it was London, big place had couple rotties  on the place, place got done over, and they shot both dogs and put them in wheelie bins, so little dog like that got no chance . regards ebt, of all the bull terrier types, that staff, apbt, ebt , the  pit and staff, have the friendliest temp,  the ebt as sharper temp with people, they better guards as well deff .

My dad worked for the diamond minds in Africa when were growing up in our mid teens we had a German shepherd and a Rottweiler both great guards blacks use to be terrified of them, even with guns they would run away.

I can't imagine a place you would need serious dogs more.Rotties scare a lot of people,I know a bloke with a pack of huge pigdogs and he is shit scared of Rotties.

Easy to make a protection dog out a good staffie better than a Mali or gsd in my opinion staffie leg biting low you have no chance a gsd arm biting a lot easier to deal with plus a good welp over head or to ribs they'll jack a bull terrier won't one would die saving you the herding types save there self for another day lol

Rotties crunch you won't they head shape to crunch whatever it gets  not a long muzzled holder

the Mali is a bit shorter muzzled got to be bull terrier in there somewhere when they pups you cover the ears the look just like a bull terrier and they bite different to shepherds aswell like playing with a bull terrier pup

I had to have stitches in my arm from a boerboel , if it hadn’t of let go when it realised who I was I would have been f****d don’t matter how big you are you would not get that to let go if it ment it my mates got 2 and had them since pups big lumps of dogs never ever bothered me in 7 year until I walked down yard in rain with my hood up and thought I’m having that c**t dragged me to floor then once it saw me it let go , doesn’t even bark at my car they are very clever dogs

Clever?! f****n brilliant I'd say. A dog that can be trained to put stitches in someone's arm must be a canine genius ?
