dogmandont 10,060
First time my boys (3and5) got it they weren’t right for months after so they won’t be getting it again. I’ve never got it myself and don’t intend to.

Meece 1,958
The other day I had to go in to seè the doc and he asked me if I wanted a flu jab. I replied no thank you. Never had it and do t want it . The wife asked me to book her elderly mother in for a jab to be done at her home by the district nurse seeing as they are visiting her. It would have been simple and easy. NAAH. The District can't do that ! One of our nurses will have to do that !! When are they going to do it. Shrug of shoulders. Now I don't suppose that its got a thing to do with the fact that they get something like £27 to give the jab Seeing as I was in with the doc I asked about the fact that plod is supposed to be asking for a doctor's ticket on cert renewal. The doc said that some times they got a form to fill in and if they did they just put no cause for concern and sent it back. Unless there was a serious problem. He said just apply in the normal way. No mention of a fee. Edited October 5, 2018 by Meece
Francie 6,368
Why would anyone want to infect themselves with a dicease?? Its genetically modified mercury filled poison, wouldnt touch it with a barge pole. Look after your immune system an ye wont need it. 2

Maybe it's because they have that jab? Certainly won't be having a quack stick a prick in me!
Meece 1,958
I've never had the jab but then ive never had a real flu. I dont really get colds very often but I Might change my mind if I did suffer. My brother on the other hand has had a succession of things and thats why he does have the flu jab. It does seem to be a horse's for courses sort of thing. Perhaps some people relate a heavy cold as having the flu. Dont forget that all of us are offspring of people who survived pandemics in the past such as the black death and Spanish flue which was a global pandemic that killed more people than the first world war. The ones that survived were either lucky of had an amount of anti bodies after having flu in 1907. My brother seems to have a very active immune system that goes into overdrive if he even gets to within 10 paces of someone who has a cold. Almost immediately his throat goes red 'raw and he produces gallons of snot. But also it goes mad if he gets cut. It was this effect that killed people in the spanish flu outbreak where it chopped fit young people more than the young or old who would normally be at risk. An interesting read in this link. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_flu?wprov=sfla1
