Load of pish did anyone see that foul mouthed SNP mhari black very unladylike.

Was embarrassed watching it. If they don't like what gets said about the don't get into politics and especially a divisive party like SNP who feed on hate!

To commemorate the occasion, Film4 are showing "Suffragette" tonight - remembering past women's fight for equality and the right to be treated with respect.

It stars Meryl Streep, who holds these issues very close to her heart, and regularly makes a stand against sexual assault and harassment..............

............except when she makes films with Roman Polanski, the self-confessed and convicted child rapist.

(Just saying like..........)

In case anyone thinks I'm picking on Ms.Streep...........

Kate Winslet, Eva Green, Natalie Portman, Whoopi Goldberg, Penelope Cruz, Tilda Swindon and Emma Thompson ( among others too many to list !) are guilty of the same glaring hypocrisy and appalling double standards.

All claim to be champions of feminism, all do their grandstanding  at awards ceremonies, their little 'right on' piece where they speak vociferously about sexual assault and harassment - but all have either made films with Polanski, spoken in support of him or signed petitions for him to be pardoned.

(For the uninitiated, in 1977, Polanski pleaded guilty to having sex with a girl he knew to be 13 years old, after plying her with alcohol and (allegedly) drugs. While on bail, awaiting sentencing, he absconded from US jurisdiction, and has been on the run ever since, often using his film star connections to start petitions, to avoid extradition.)

Anyway, just to go back to picking on Meryl Streep - when Polanski was awarded an Oscar in 2003, guess who was first on her feet to applaud ?

So, it seems to me, they are the champions of women's rights...........unless there's a hefty pay cheque and a dose of Hollywood kudos involved.
