Born Hunter 17,960
Its actually looks like an upper class version of Get Stuffed the old taxidermy shop that used to be,maybe still is,in Islington, that was chock full of interesting must-haves. Dunno if upper class is quite the right description but I know what you mean. Sculls and taxidermy is in vogue at the moment among the sort of modern punk types. I'm thinking like the young Angelina Jolie. That punk, pagen, noir, culture that is around now. Seen some social media models that collect Sculls and weird stuff, sort of normalising what to most is a weird hobby! Lol.
Born Hunter 17,960
Thats somw shop pal, I could spend hours in there! I just decided to walk everywhere and it's when you find little places like this and see stuff that makes it worthwhile over just taxiing between touristy places and completely missing such things.

Welsh_red 5,057
Looks like my sort of shop fourth pic down is that a cave bear? Not sure, it was on the window display so hard to get close to. I assumed it was a black bear as the claws were too short to be a brown/grizzly I thought. You might be right though. The store had a mix of extinct and modern fauna. It was called evolution. https://theevolutionstore.com Some good stuff on there not to expensive Fox skull 44 dollars tho

Born Hunter 17,960
Just a nuclear processing paper I co-authored at an oil industry conference. Difficult to explain. Sounds a lot more impressive than it was.any chance of read born? Or point me in the direction of where I might find it? It's gonna be well over my head lol but it sounds interesting I personally wouldn't mind mate but legally my employer is the 'owner' of the work and the society who ran the conference the owners of the "rights concerning reproduction, reuse, or resale of the paper". All that just makes me a bit cautious handing it out on a public forum. I hope you understand. You could access the paper from the societies published journal online but it'll cost like 40USD I think. Honestly mate, if you were familiar with density log interpretation in the oil industry you would read it and not be particularly impressed imo. The technique was primarily developed by a colleague and we only really pursued publication as part of a greater business plan. It was a good experience for me and I enjoyed it and will hopefully pursue publishing some more of my own work that I have a bit more belief in.
Greyman 32,411
Feck me the fish monger up the road from me started selling crayfish last year and was descended on by crusty hippy,s screaming and shouting and waving banners about, could you imaging how long a shop like that would stay open before the liberals descended on it and made the owners life,s hell in this country

I hope you had some fun as well born? It was really good yeah. There's something about NYC that is ingrained in the culture of Westerners I think from film and TV etc. And the US has a lot of it's history there so I found that cool. I was on my own so not sure I had as much 'fun' as maybe I should of! LOL. Just did my thing and explored. whats bass pro????,,,,,fishing ?? Like Cabelas. Basically an outdoorsman's Mecca! A supermarket for hunting, shooting, fishing, trapping, bowhunting etc etc. They've got taxidermy scenes all over the store, herds of bison being chased by wolves etc, huge fish tanks set against a fake canyon with like 20lb Bass (I think) swimming around in it, and all the interior is decorated like a log cabin. Makem has posted pics before but if you're still not sure I'll post some of my pictures later.
