What Do You Reckon Lads

For the past few days, ive been toying with the idea of getting a working partner for my mate penny, ive got the time and work for another dog, but fact is , even though im fit in good health, im 73, and by the time I source a pup, get it to workable age, I will be 74 feckin plus, im off out in an hrs time, nowt like being out in the open to sort out my mind, just thought id ask for your opinions, I hate bedding my dog down at night times, her looks lonely sin I lost Nell

If I hadnt met you Keith I would probably say no....for those of you who haven't met Keith theres feck all frail about him,hes got the energy/enthusiasm of a teenager and looks as fit as his dogs...Get another one mate,youre 73 yrs young,should things go pear shaped (which it does for many a lot younger than you) I'm sure they can be sorted with good homes via here...atb Dave

Get an older dog.

+ 2 yep , plenty of old lurchers in the pound , that need a nice life , instead of the ineffable :( , just look for nice size to fit in with her temp and size , you deff find one :yes:

My dad is 76, he took on a Brittany farm collie 2+ years ago, that was born & raised feral until the age of 3 months.........tbh the dog has been a total fcuking pain in the arse, but he won't give up on it, despite having his 5th stroke in 6 years 2 weeks ago.......

 

Just do it mate.

As others have said Kieth why not try an older dog .. maybe a little busher to push stuff out for Penny & save you getting on all fours in the brambles ? Whatever you decide I wish you the very best of luck. Atb

good idea that :thumbs: , nice little border x jack etc . keep the pup company and knock rabbits out for her , as said plenty of old dogs down the pound to choose . :yes: . my son got little jack x chihuahua woody, he 5 year old ive put few pics on here before he a rescue dog from the pound , nice little thing heart like lion , he sorts my 2 dogs out lol . a feckin young staff had a go at him the other day, got woody pinned down by the neck, the daughter-in law was very upset by it, she 7 month preg . good job i wasn't there, or would been staff with bust ribs . :yes: .
