Is investigating corruption of council officials, and a major underworld figure "El Putin" has agreed to fund the cost of building the wall....... This will be his Waterloo.... C556 351
One year into his presidency, Trump's approval rating is as high as Obama's was after his first year https://m.theepochtimes.com/trump-approval-rating-same-as-obama-at-end-of-first-year_2398362.html

ChrisJones 7,975
From Politico. 138 things Trump did this year while you weren't looking. It's doubtful anyone will read it in it's entirety but it's as neutral as it gets in it's critique Edited December 30, 2017 by ChrisJones
WILF 50,302
I read a good chunk of it, obviously there are some things in there that I personally dont agree with, but putting my own bias on those particular subject aside I cant see as he has done much wrong......in fact nearly all of it seems to be sending government in the right direction and will be of benefit to many. No government is going to benefit everybody but just by the fact that government is getting smaller in a lot of areas then, imho, that really does benefit everybody........they just don’t know it. so, judging by that article, this constant screaming by everyone that anything Trump does is wrong or bad seems to be complete bollocks. Of course you will always get naysayers from countries like Ireland or France who dont know how to survive on their own or countries like Britain who have forgotten how to do it......but you can’t pay that any mind. 7/10 for Trump I reckon. The biggest positive to come from his presidency is the number of people politically engaged now. Shit he's even managed to get the first transgendered woman, first asian american woman, and first latina elected based on his interaction with the electorate. At local level incumbent conservative republicans have been unseated too. Some of these people have been in office for decades. It's 11 months to the mid-terms and while he's still got the majority in the house and the senate it remains to be seen whether he'll do anything with that advantage in what will probably be one of the biggest turn outs in recent history. Despite the fact he's got the vocabulary of a 12 year old he's certainly moving and shaking the establishment, just not in a way his supporters want based on his slipping popularity. I'll agree with 7/10 but only for energising the the electorate!
WILF 50,302
Then folk are paying too much attention to the media, exactly what the established knew they would do......that’s why you never read or watch or hear anything positive. I dare anyone to point out one bad bit of policy in that list that it couldn’t be argued has a benefit in some way? In in fact I’ll argue one that I completely disagree with......removing environmental protections for wetlands etc.......now I think that’s terrible.......BUT...... if it frees up industry to create some jobs then the bloke with a family who is out of work in that particular area may thinks it’s brilliant.....it’s going to pay his bills and put his kids through school. The responsibility then falls to the consumer to decide if they like a companies methods and spend their dollar (or pound or euro) accordingly.......no legislation required ! Companies always listen to market forces. 7/10 is as good as any politician is ever going to do mate. Edited December 30, 2017 by WILF

Companies always listen to market forces. 7/10 is as good as any politician is ever going to do mate. Again we can go round and around the mulberry bush but for every policy that panders to the corporations even I as a poorly educated security guard can see an alternative that would not only be sustainable but extremely profitable. Tourism generates $7 to $1 against mineral extraction so our business genius has decided to carve up a massively profitable sustaining industry that benefits literally millions into a land grab worth literally billions that would benefit a handful... That, my friend, is exactly why these people are now going to the polls to vote out incumbents! The transgendered congressman woman person wasn't elected because he she they(?) were transgendered it was because they ran on a platform to improve Virginia's infrastructure and public transport against a guy that was running on a platform to decide which toilet people can use! Despite the wave of populism from the Donald it does seem at the minute that the people are pushing back as they think that getting the buses and trains to run on time is vastly more important than where people decide to take a piss! Companies do indeed listen to market forces. Why does he have to step from what the people have chosen to engage a business model which is less profitable than the one currently available, by giving them an advantage that allows them to tear up the market and change it to something else? As I asked you earlier in the thread, you are a business savvy genius in charge of the assets of millions of people. Do you go for the long term massively profitable path that will last for generations, or do you go for the quick wallet filler that will bite you in the arse in the very short term? We'll exclude the possibility that you're not just doing it because you didn't like your predecessor. Again the article is neutral from what I've read and again we're going to judge the man on his results which are currently under review. WILF 50,302
Obviously mate, I’m not aware of the situation on the ground for your average American but if it’s anything like the UK where people are just marking time till death, never able to climb out of the pit because of how the economy is set up and Trump is saying he needs to kickstart America again.....then short term wealth is what is needed maybe?........it easier for people to worry about endangered newts when their financial situation dictates they have little else to worry about.......maybe that comes later my friend? Oddly enough, voters tend to get things right in the end I always believe so maybe the local election losses are the voters subconsciously putting in checks and balances to their presidents worst excesses ?.......again, nothing wrong with that. Obama was, from what I could see, a president very much in the Tony Blair mold.......and with that said I can well understand a wholesale dismantling of anything he done JUST because it was him that done it.......if only we had had that kind of fore sight at the end of Blair’s terms here? That f****r poisoned the well and with America 17+ Trillion greenbacks in the hole it looks like Obama did the same (no doubt aided by that halfwit Bush before him).........I was actually very positive when Obama got elected, I thought it would be a turning point for the world, but no......I quickly saw him as the American Blair and I dont believe the stupid socialist/capitalist mix we have in Europe is ever going to be a good fit for America. Im not a clever dude, but I can get with the Obama (Blair) bad / anything else good mentality....... For a political class that relies on getting up the arsehole of the Rupert Murdoch’s of this world the fact that Trump is pushing on regardless when almost every media outlet, every intelligencia talking head, every state sponsored mouthpiece is against him I think is worth supporting.......it’s gutsy.........and gutsy is what is sadly lacking in politics imho As I have said since he got elected, f**k it, go for the ride and see where it all ends up.......it may be different but it definitely can’t be worse.
