You fancy commenting on my last post Stopend? You've read it and you know it was you that was the representative that night. I never did tell them lads that you back stabbed them after the meeting but they'll read it on here anyway. That should be enough fact to keep you simmering over. Edited to add as for bloodlines given to start men out x amount of years ago that's another story. Pity you weren't gifted the same maybe you wouldn't be so bitter. Any of that I've seen and have some blood in my yard isn't lacking in anyway.

I genuinely never seen your post until I have read it there just now. By the way I haven't a clue who you are so I don't know what you heard me say about whoever if were giving it truthfully here...it was 2012 I personally only knew 4 people at that meet that's the folk I travelled down with the rest id only ever spoke to on fone or internet, I had at that time definitely never dug with any of them or yourself im quite sure or even really talked lines with? But it will be easy for you to know me because I presented myself forward and sat at a table and persevered with some other good men who know one ever knew only we stepped forward for something that most of us love and we were getting treated like idiots with the right to work terriers sweeped from under our feet as we all argue? If it wasn't for that you or Neil or anyone else wouldn't know me from adam . as for being bitter about black lines... you had me puzzled to fatman piped up and re jogged my memory... lol a man before I went away to work had a few good black dogs... when I came back he was still digging the same old dogs with no new blood..he didn't know anyone.. he heard about A.C. asked me could I make contact with him for him to try buy a pup... I said ill try... so I PMd him about 4 years ago, and he said he had no pups for sale...if he has the PM saved tell him to post I explained all to him in a PM... wasn't me looking a pup... and ive nowt to hide lol...and I don't even work dogs with that certain man anymore.

Now if we could get back to terriers.... glyn I meant you wrote what you were told and that's all anyone asks...

I do dig over blacks very regularly and there great wee dogs know there job and do it well... Ive also seen some great whites and there also great dogs what see the job through... and me myself personally have a preference for blacks/ chocs or any coloured terrier... but I prefer to see a white dog working it means the pool is still there lets be honest a lot of men work the blacks because in the most part that's the most popular consistent type out there doing it at the minute. rant over... its Christmas and out in the morning!

The meeting in question was in Newtownards in 2012, the first one held in the North for the Iwtf. So apart from yourself and BW that travelled over and was judging a show the next day it was only myself and the other 2 lads that where there before your mates landed later on. So there's your queries answered for you and hopefully that jogs your memory. Either way I don't give a toss but don't be coming on here giving it loads throwing this and that at people and bringing other folk into it, when you're in no position whatsoever to be talking about anyone. Also you've met me twice from that Iwtf meeting, first at Burren and then at Moate as I walked over to the Iwtf tent direction at both shows where you where standing, you couldn't look me in the eye either of the two occassions and I stood there talking to the lads both times for long enough,so don't deny you didn't recognise me...I've been into terriers long enough to know what the standard is and I've been fortunate to have made many friends that are well respected and have enjoyed many days out with good decent folk and working dogs up and down the country, I don't need the likes of you trying to tell me what I should or could not do, or what is acceptable or not when I know better myself so for that and reasons above is the reason I didn't follow on with any membership and it's no disrespect for the Iwtf or any of its members and I wish them the best.

IMO if the dog is 12 inches off the quarry then it is showing too much respect and not trying to dominate.

Patterdale or Russell it is just not good.

 

If you were digging in France then the quarry would dig on and put a wall of earth up in front of the dog.

When you break in the dog is siting on its own in the tube, not really a good sign in anyones eyes.

 

If digging here and the terrier is not trying to get to grips with a Fox, something wrong in my mind anyway.

It does not mean that the terrier takes hold regardless. They should have an inherent knack to kill the prey without getting needlessly injured.

 

I saw a video of two lions with an african honey badger on the TV, Both lions were trying to get a grip and kill the badger.

Every time they tried to get a grip the lions ducked the strike the badger made and went around for a different grip.

Now these were lions that must have been 10 times the size of the badger, there heads were nearly bigger than the badgers body.

BUT they were smart about going about killing it, No one could doubt their courage, they were just smart.

No doubt the badger was killed, it just was done in a way that minimised cuts to the lions that could get infected and kill the predator.

If a wild animal like a lion can use its brain surely a terrier can use its head as well.

 

And you are right about the terrier game, we should write our posts and mails as though the ANTI's are reading them.

Protecting terrierwork should be on our mind at all times. NOT EASY . but we should try.

Was it more recently that the Levi Oakes blood was used?

gnipper , i don't know about Levi's blood being added this would be after the border blood in the ped posted by p3d, and it was the mating in those terriers i was interested as my dogs go back to a full brother to that bitch and a half brother , when you chat with Brian or as i was doing interviewing him a for a US mag , he is a very clever man and steers almost controls the interview keeping it on the track he wants it to be on , but i wanted dog specific information if he did use Levi's blood it wouldn't surprise me but i never discussed it with him so have no facts sorry

Thanks for the reply Glyn. I've heard a few times over the years that Mr Nuttall had used that bloodline as an outcross so I was just thinking that could have been where the border in the pictured pedigree came from.

i don't believe Levi had borders when those mating took place i think it could of been Brian's own border , back then if you had a good working bitch breed or color didn't matter you take it to your chosen dog, if you where after breeding black pups any came black you kept them the whites the grizzles you sold,

i think at one time the line had a lot of bronze colored dogs i believe these where very dark grizzles a friend of mine had some bred down from BN Rocky and his son Micky, as he line bred them a lot of smooth border type pups turned up

a man I used to know had a litter of bn rocky to his own big thick coated hard working bitch off bn breeding in hkennels .he said that eight border in there .think bn denied it years later and his dogs changed , size .mid eightees , so them dogs would went back to stuff and decades through

16th of border , not eighth .and I don't know if that was just the dam.
