Blackbriar 8,569
The council are replacing a couple of pathways round here, maybe 30 or 40 yards in total. The letter we received said to would take 4 weeks (!). They were a week late starting, and they're 2 weeks overdue now ! They're sometimes not here at all for a day or three, and when they are here they don't seem to do a great deal..... They could do with some lessons from those Japs - AH-SO ! My council has spent god knows what on a cycle path in carmarthenshire aswell. I started on the council last October and work the roads. Problem i can see is theirs not enough men . A length that had 3 vans and 6 men and a digger working all year round years ago has 1 man and a van , no digger . Its literally impossible to get the back roads around me in good condition. All I will say is use the council website to log a complaint about a pothole and use language they will have to act on .
Arry 26,629
The back lanes around here are deteriorating into green lanes. Cheers Arry
.357shooter 1,450
Will say the dirt roads in Canada back in the late 80,s were a lot better than the crap we have now .
jukel123 10,132
Every time I hit one, I curse George Osbourne. He was the geezer who introduced ' austerity'. This meant spending on public services was slashed. He told us " we are all in this together"...and that public services needed to be slashed... to a level which makes us look like a third world country. Strangely , we are all worse off, whilst Osbourne and his mates have become a helluva lot richer. Hmn. Explain that to me again George.
