delswal 3,819
A small atomiser bottle full of neat ammonia will stop a dog dead in its tracks, and if the owner becomes violent let them know how the dog feels. Easy to carry, easy to use easy to conceal.
neems 2,406
I've had 2 accidents in my life, once a spaniel ran up behind my terrier while he was on the lead and mounted him, before I knew what was happening his spaniel was chewed up and needed stitches,I broke them apart and go the spaniel and owner to the vet and paid to get him properly stitched up,another was when my missus loosened the lurcher's collar before we went for a walk and he slipped it and caught a cat (on someones garage roof) in front of a crowd of onlookers,I climbed up and got my dog off but couldn't keep hold of the cat and it ran off obviously injured. I knocked door to door until I found the owner, offered to help find it and gave them my contact details so they could give me any vets bill,I got a call and they said since it was an accident we'll split the bill. I'd feel guilty to this day if I'd just snuck off and left them there, shows the mentality of the people who would.
bird 10,014
I refuse to walk in public places. Too many irresponsible idiots, more so when the weathers good. They all disappear when it rains! spot on, its deff a weather thing, as soon as the clocks go back , you wont see 90% of them. i use common ground by me, get lots of summer dog walkers , my 2 are off the lead there not dog aggressive they will just play with other dogs or leave them alone, they will go up just sniff then walk off. in fact ive had few go for my big dog, but he justs keeps away from them when there like that , thats what you want people/dog friendly animal
Lloyd90 509
Sometimes dogs get loose or owners can't see that your there. It's 100% the attitude of the owner that depends how it goes down. My lab used to play a lot but as she's got older heckles will go up and she might bark at people and there dogs! I'll give her a swift slap on the head and tell her to leave it out immediately! Wouldn't mind someone who's dog was a bit boisterous but they rained it in, than some dick head who just stood there doing feck all!

Greyman 30,700
Pepper spray or cs gas stops aggressive dogs or owners instantly.. and carry,s the same sentence as an illegal firearm, prison time has to be balanced with financial gain and five years of your life over a dog scrap = waste of time, also the actions of someone with know bottle, If your dog is attacked a swift clout with the walking stick job done if the owner of said dog gets a bit choppsie and in your face, then another good whack in self defence, because you were in fear of your life, once again job done know one is going to prison and next time you see them they will either have the dog on a lead or go a long way round to avoid you, it's not all about scoring gangster points

Greyman 30,700
how would you stand with a bottle of Grim Reaper chilli extract ,a food product 9million scoville ,make sure youve some wraps, chicken breasts,on you as well ! the problem with that is you have to dilute it with water and load it into a super soaker for best effect, or ask the other dog and its owner to hold still and look upwards while you pour a drop into the eye, it's all about having a good reason to carry it,IE you can keep a big iron jack handle down the side of your truck seat, as long as you have the trolley jack it came from in the truck or a baseball bat as long as you have a ball and or a catchers glove, it's just common sense, if you walk into a nightclub with a knife, your a wrong un, if you go ferreting with a knife it's fine, it basically covers pre meditation, going armed, and grabbing the nearest thing to defend yourself are a million miles apart, even if they are the same weapon and the same outcome, at the end of the day your better just resolving it in a civilised way and getting on with your life, all the other options are a last resort Edited September 1, 2016 by Greyman
scothunter 12,609
My pet hate. Not a problem if your dog listens to its owner and comes to heel, but the vast majority dont. There a silly old b*****d i keep bumping into. He drives around on one of those buggy things with two red setters (stupid brainless f***ing things). They run up to mine but wont come to close as my dog is going ballistic and wants to maul them. Ive said to him a couple times now. If he gets a grip of them its your own f***ing fault. Ridiculous anyway if he cant walk he shouldn't have the f***ing things, and who picks the shite up after them!
