Neapolitan Mastiff

Recommended Posts

there's a program on this week on the Animal Planet channel called...bark week, (obviously) about dogs, watching the trailer for it, they

showed a Neapolitan mastiff.....my god, what has man done to this breed, i remember them from years back, and they looked a very nice

dog, but this one they showed, had so many wrinkles and loose skin....i dare say it would have trouble seeing as it's skin under it's eye was so droopy, showing it's inner eye lining...

it was the same with they English Bull Dog.....i remember talking to my dad years ago, about today's English Bull Dog, yet again he said,

it's a ruined breed, he said the original EBD was a nice looking dog until man messed with it, he said it stood up to your knee and it's shout

was more protruding, i remember reading that they couldn't give birth naturally due to the size of there heads, and only by cesarean

section.....

also...the Pug, i saw a program on them, and one couldn't lay down to sleep as i wouldn't be able to breath as it's tongue was to big for it's

purpose bread short snout ....what is wrong with people ruining these dog breeds?

So does the f****n rspca for banning perfectly fit healthy dogs and allowing monstrosities such as this to be bred ......where are they when they are actually needed and could serve a purpose !!

Disgusting what these idiots have done to animals, I can't for the life of me understand why people still put their names down for pups which they know will have so many health issues either though, i

Fukn hell i thought some b*****ds hacked my phone & lifted pics of my missus??!!! Atb

Breed standards taken to their natural conclusion by producing generation after generation of increasingly exaggerated dogs. If only there had been some type of work the breed could've performed..

I seen old pictures of pugs and they looked more like the jug cross breeds of today (jack russel x pug),not bad looking dogs tbh

Same with Bulldogs they looked more like a staff x bulldog than the bulldog of today, which was supposed to have had pug blood added to it to get the squashed face .

All because they value looks over function.

It's not just breeders that are stupid !

She and I used to foster dogs for a local charity, until they could be rehomed (mostly ones that weren't faring very well in kennels), and one time we had a Neapolitan. His owners had signed him over, as they "didn't realise he would grow so big"......!!

He looked like the "before" picture shown earlier - smashing dog ! Loyal and absolutely fearless.
